This is a program intended for lovers of wisdom. You’ll develop a trained mind that thinks clearly, precisely, and rigorously. This program will introduce you to the central texts of the world’s greatest ancient, medieval, modern, and contemporary thinkers. You’ll learn the methods of careful definition, logical analysis, and argumentation. In addition to core foundations of a robust philosophy program, our program has special emphases on apologetics, moral philosophy, bioethics, human rights, and human dignity. It all boils down to this: the CUW Philosophy program will prepare you to be a thinker. And since you’ll be able to specialize in any area of philosophy that interests you most, you’ll experience the true thrill of charting your own intellectual course in life.

You will leave a different person than when you arrived. Your mind will be an interesting place, full of curiosity, wonder and intellectual fulfillment.  Upon completion you should feel equipped for either additional graduate-level study  or entrance into the professional world. Not everyone immediately sees the connection between a degree in philosophy and success in the business world, but even a quick glance at some of the top CEOs and entrepreneurs in America shows one thing in common - a philosophy degree. It should come as no surprise that critical thinkers, who think analytically and deeply about problems, would quickly rise to the top. Perhaps most importantly, you will learn how to engage with society’s dominant discourses and trends from a whole different angle than the majority of your peers.

The field of public health, “promotes and protects the health of people in the communities where they live, learn, work, and play” (American Public Health Association). It is a very diverse, crosscutting discipline with vast opportunities, in both public and private sectors, at the local, state, and national levels. This degree offers a Lutheran Christian perspective on public health and prepares you to serve Christ around the world as a globally minded citizen working to protect and promote the public’s health. It is an engaging, multidisciplinary educational program filled with practical application opportunities to prepare you to be a strong, competitive candidate in the public health sector.

In this degree program, you will have the opportunity to personalize your concentration depending on your interest. Regardless of which concentration you choose, all undergraduate students will complete a minimum of 120 credits, including 45 credit hours of general education core curricula, 25 credit hours of required public health coursework, and 3 credit hours of a culminating/capstone project

This program isn’t all ones and zeroes, if that’s what you’re thinking. It’s actually a three-part curriculum that starts with a liberal arts core, moves on to lay a solid foundation in general business, and then offers specialized focus in finance. From accounting to economics and statistics, you’ll set the groundwork for a wide array of financial and business management topics. We’re talking the time value of money, interest rates, financial statements, capital allocation, stocks, bonds, derivatives, economic policy, international trade, foreign currency, regulation, and many others.

At the end of this program, you will know the ins and outs of business commerce you can apply all around the world. You will learn all levels of finance such as corporate and international and fundamental financial management and valuation principles. When you join the workforce you’ll be confident in commercial banking, financial markets, and monetary and fiscal policy.

This two year graduate, full-time program is designed to prepare you to become a competent speech-language pathologist who provides quality care in a respectful, culturally sensitive, caring, and knowledgeable manner. Committed and experienced faculty will guide the didactic program along with high-quality clinical experiences to prepare you for professional certification and licensure.

The program at CUW is committed to offering an engaging environment and access to off-site community service and clinical opportunities, in addition to the soon to be completed state-of-the-art on campus Concordia University Wisconsin Speech, Language, and Hearing clinic - everything you need to be prepared to succeed in the profession of speech-language pathology.

In addition to the on-site CUW Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic we will offer engaging clinical externship and practicum opportunities in a variety of educational and medical settings.  Our goal is to provide you with rich quality clinical placements interacting with diverse populations in a variety of settings.

Upon successful completion of all requirements and graduation from the master of science in speech-language pathology program at CUW, individuals will be prepared to apply for initial licensure required for practice in the state of Wisconsin.

In this program, you will learn the skills needed to help prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults.

As an SLP, you will have the opportunity to work in many different education, health care, and research settings with varying roles and levels of responsibility. You'll also have the opportunity to work with a diverse client population serving individuals across the lifespan. In many settings, you may often work as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team, which may include teachers, physicians, audiologists, psychologists, social workers, physical and occupational therapists, and rehabilitation counselors.

You emerge with analytical skills, critical thinking skills, and go on to practice in organizations fostering service and commitment to serve local, national and international organizations.

The classical education program comprises an interdisciplinary course of study in classical studies and classical teaching methods, grounded in the liberal arts tradition with a strong foundation in the Lutheran heritage. The complete classical education program at Concordia is comprised of our classical studies major (which provides you with a classical foundation) and the classical pedagogy minor (where you’ll learn how to teach according to classical principles).

Students can anticipate engaging the liberal arts at all levels of the program. You will gain a solid foundation in classical culture and the Christian intellectual tradition. You will explore the history, theory and practice of a classical approach to curriculum and pedagogy. You will develop a thorough knowledge of biblical content and demonstrate an understanding of the Christian worldview from a Lutheran perspective. Upon graduation, you will have the broad content knowledge and practical experience that classical schools are looking for in teacher candidates.

Throughout history, mathematics has played an essential role in leading humanity to new discoveries and technological advances. In fact, some of the most important achievements of our time would not have been possible without the field of mathematics. Whether you’re looking to help progress technology or you want to use your gifts to help consult businesses, our bachelor’s degree in mathematics will teach you the skills you need to have an impact.

One of the reasons that mathematics is so appealing is because it’s true. You can solve the same equation for X over and over again and the answer remains consistent. In our mathematics program, you’ll find satisfaction in discovering the right answer and enjoy the challenge of a complicated problem. Throughout the program, you’ll learn how to use computers and computer systems for problem solving, explore the relationship between a Christian worldview and a technological science, and complete a research project on a mathematical topic of interest. Every step of the way, you’ll have experienced professors guiding you. You’re not a number at Concordia - you’re a student who will get to know your professors and receive meaningful mentorship.

As a graduate of the mathematics program, you’ll have a deep comprehension of (and appreciation for) areas like calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, geometry, abstract algebra and real analysis. You’ll be able to solve and understand differential equations, sequences and series, vector-valued functions, partial derivatives, functions and algorithms. And you won’t be graduating with only math skills. Because you take liberal arts courses for your core requirements, you’ll leave the graduation stage with stronger communication skills, a better understanding of other cultures and an appreciation for the social sciences - all while having opportunities to explore and strengthen your faith.

It truly is a global economy. And perhaps there’s a place for you somewhere in the mix. This program centers on international finance and global economics, offering you the global focus that today’s leaders need to effectively manage international business operations.

You’ll find evidence of our global economy in the stuff you use every day – the stuff that adds quality to your life: your phone, your computer, your car, even the clothes on your back. The truth is, much of it was built in a foreign country and imported before it went up for sale here at home. A bachelor’s in international business will help you understand the complexity of international business operations. The program combines liberal arts and general business courses with foreign language and communication studies, and a semester abroad to set you on the path to become a qualified manager with an international perspective. You’ll learn how business is conducted both in and between different nations, while studying the effects financial systems, government policies, and cultural differences have on the global economy. You’ll understand how different IT tools help people communicate, manage data, and solve problems. You’ll dip into marketing, risk management, and insurance. And you’ll gain valuable insight in how to manage complexity in an international environment.

Our goal in the Master of Occupational Therapy program is to prepare you as an outstanding occupational therapist, who will positively impact communities by empowering others to reach their highest potential through leadership, best practice, advocacy, and innovation. We emphasize the importance of serving all clients with the best care possible.

You’ll develop the skills necessary to enable people (persons, groups, or populations) to do their day-to-day occupations for the purpose of improving or enabling participation. (OTPF-4, 2020) By combining classroom, laboratory, and supervised clinic-based instruction, our courses train you for a wide range of occupational therapy settings.

Through our program you’ll be able to:

• Demonstrate advocacy skills to be an effective change-maker in surrounding communities
• Use best practice for the evaluation, intervention, and measurement of outcomes for individuals or communities
• Effectively and efficiently solve occupation-based problems
• Develop leadership skills
• Effectively communicate and collaborate in a variety of communities

Students in the MOT program will have the opportunity to explore the entry-level Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTDe) degree. At the conclusion of the second semester, students will be given the choice to continue in the MOT program or declare interest in the OTDe program. Students who declare interest in the OTDe will be evaluated by OT faculty to determine eligibility to enroll in OTDe coursework.

This is a full time graduate professional program taught in a blended format. Students interact with their classmates and professors online before and after in person classes, which focus on active learning and/or lab activities. Students apply to and enroll in one of three tracks, as determined by their educational background:

• Accelerated
  • Students starting as a freshman at CUW looking to earn a bachelor's and master's degree in 4.5 years
• Bridge
  • COTAs looking to further their education and opportunities as an OTR
• Post-baccalaureate
  • Applicants holding a bachelor's degree

This is an intense field, and it takes a lot of work and dedication to prepare you for your Society of Actuaries Exams. That’s why it’s an incredible benefit to you that our program consists of small class sizes to maximize the personal attention you get from your professors. It really makes all the difference, and will get you where you need to go quicker.

The program itself encompasses a three-part curriculum that includes a liberal arts core, a business common body of knowledge, and a specialization in actuarial science. So in addition to classes like Econometrics, International Business, and Linear Algebra and Differential Equations, you’ll round out your education with classes in literature, history, and theology.

Yes, it’s demanding. But it’s incredibly rewarding as well. High school students are encouraged to get as many AP credits as you can before you begin the actuarial science program. Once you’re in the program, we strongly encourage you to take (and pass, obviously) your SOA Exams P and FM while you’re still in college. It’s especially important for you to pass your Exam P before or during your junior year, because it’s the only way you’ll be able to secure an actuarial science internship.
