Let’s talk about the long term. Upon graduation you’ll have acquired the skills and knowledge and a year of practice experience to immediately enter into generalist professional practice. The primary mission of the CUW social work program is to prepare graduates for baccalaureate level, generalist, social work practice, within the context of faith, service and social justice.  To fulfill this mission, the CUW Social Work program is based on CSWE’s nine competencies:

Robotics, virtual reality, and videogames are often cited as future job areas, but you could also be a part of many other fields—animation, music, automobiles, analytics…the list goes on.

In our modern world, there are decreasingly fewer things that don't rely on computers and technology in some shape or form, making computer science one of the most practical and versatile fields of study out there. If you don't have a bachelor's degree and want to enter or advance in a career in technology, enroll in Concordia’s online bachelor's in computer science program. Courses are offered fully online, providing you incredible flexibility to work around your busy schedule. You’ll learn how to develop, implement, and manage technology in the world of computer science.

Concordia accepts up to 84 transfer credits toward a bachelor's degree. Start dates are available every eight weeks. Now is the time to start this prestigious online computer science degree program.

The purpose of this program, offered as a major or minor, is to assist you as you discover the gifts and talents God has given you for service. Although you will not train as a missionary, you will be studying how mission work is accomplished around the globe. A key element of this program is recognizing and deliberating on the challenges that arise in the mission field. Along the way, you’ll have opportunities to participate in spring break mission trips, Missions Club, and global trips that will provide you with hands-on experience.

Neither the missions major or minor is a training program. Mission groups (such as LCMS World Mission) train their own missionaries to prepare for the specific areas where they’ll be sent. The goal of our program at Concordia is to help you decide if God is truly calling you to serve as a missionary.

Several of our theology faculty have a great deal of experience in mission work and will mentor you as you explore the possibilities. By the end of the program, you’ll be well-acquainted with the urgent need for missionaries and be prepared to decide if and how you want to serve. You’ll also leave with a better understanding of how to work in cross-cultural settings, how to navigate other religions, and how to handle the challenges that come with missionary work.

As you know, it isn’t easy getting into advanced programs in the health professions. The good news is Concordia has a major designed specifically for those who aspire to such careers. You’ll gain the intellectual, scientific, and ethical tools you’ll need to serve others, specifically by helping them lead healthier lives.
Whether your end goal is a graduate program in the medical sciences; admission to a school of medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, or veterinary science; or enrollment in a professional program such as physician assistant or physical therapy, our bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences will help develop a foundation for your desired future career.

The biomedical sciences major has three tracks you can choose from: Human Biology, Pre-Medical, and Research. Your selection of electives within your chosen track will enable you to further individualize the final program based on your particular career goals. Plus, CUW has outstanding faculty in the biomedical sciences who are willing and able to guide you in your selection and work with you to help you fulfill your vocation. And the support continues outside of the classroom through mentoring programs and networking within student organizations such as the Pre-Med and Pre-Pharmacy Clubs.

What will your time at CUW look like? That, of course, depends on you and your interests, but we can at least give you an outline of the coursework you’ll receive. Your foundational classes will focus on the subjects of human biology, genetics, microbiology, chemistry, physics, and bioethics. Depending on your track choice and electives, you may delve as deeply as you like into anatomy and physiology, molecular genetics, research methods, histology, immunology, and pharmacology.

Our traditional undergraduate program in Healthcare Administration will prepare you for roles that may manage a department and/or a healthcare facility. As someone who may have interest in healthcare, but not necessarily direct patient care this may be the degree for you. Through your courses, you will be exposed to business management, finance, human resources, marketing, and more.

In addition, this program will equip you with the ability to evaluate research results that are applicable to your healthcare practice, and teach you how to create a reflective self-plan for personal and professional growth. You’ll discover an ability to recognize and analyze current trends and issues related to healthcare management, which will help you grow throughout your career.

Our graduates go on to work in hospitals, long-term care facilities, medical groups, medical device or pharmaceutical companies, other clinical settings and even insurance companies. You will be prepared with organizational, managerial, and leadership skills to lead a team. As well as, critical thinking and analytical skills to adequately assist, support, and lead among different areas in healthcare.
There are so many intricacies to working in the complex field of healthcare. This program focuses primarily on managing resources in a healthcare setting while working with others in the field of healthcare. It all starts with your ability to recognize every individual as a holistic being created by God – someone whose dignity, worth, and rights deserve to be respected and upheld.

This program will help you grow adept at analyzing different healthcare systems. You’ll grow an ability to synthesize knowledge from the sciences, humanities, and management theories as a basis for problem-solving and decision-making. You will be expected to display a willingness to work cohesively and communicate with members of the interdisciplinary healthcare network.

As a student in this program, you will be required to complete an internship and have opportunity to work in our new collaborative Speech-Language Pathology Clinic in the Robert W. Plaster Building (on campus). During this time, you will collaborate with other practitioners, clinicians, administrators, and patients to gain invaluable experience without having to go beyond the CUW campus.

Additionally, you are encouraged to participate in the – Next Generation Healthcare Leaders (NGHL), a student healthcare group supported by the Wisconsin Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). This will also provide accelerated opportunities for networking and access to local, state, and national healthcare leaders and decision makers to assist our aspiring students who are committed to a career in healthcare.

Music therapy is the process of using music to aid changes in behavior and brain function in order to promote health and wellness. Our music therapy program is an equivalency program offered by CUW through Alverno College. What does that mean? You’ll benefit from a well-rounded Bachelor of Arts in Music degree through CUW, while earning a Music Therapy Equivalency Degree at Alverno College. This allows you to focus on the specific courses required to become a board certified music therapist. You will follow our liberal arts music curriculum and graduate from CUW with a music therapy concentration.

A key element of your studies is learning how to work within a multidisciplinary team in medical and psychiatric hospitals, hospice, schools, and clinics. A day in your future life could involve helping Alzheimer’s patients retain memories, Parkinson’s patients improve mobilities, infants reduce their stay in the neonatal ICU, and people suffering from depression deal with their symptoms.

Because of our partnership with Alverno College, you’ll be assisted in securing a top internship position to gain hands-on experience and build up your resume for the future. As a CUW student, you will be exposed to and have opportunities to participate in a wide range of musical ensembles including band, orchestra, choir, and handbells. Besides the regular classes, we have many student-led musical groups and events to enjoy throughout the school year. The liberal arts music major program offers you the chance to interact with and learn from other music students outside of the music therapy program.

Everywhere you go, you see the work of marketing professionals, whether it’s a billboard, a TV ad, a social media post or a brochure. In a world where everyone is vying for attention, you need to learn how to be strategic with your message. That’s why we created this program. Our experienced professors will help you discover how to plan, implement and manage marketing tasks like market segmentation, use of media and promotion, budgeting and evaluation. You’ll learn how to research your audience and share your message using the best channel - so you know you’ll be heard.

Being part of a diverse student body means that you’ll have the opportunity to hear other perspectives and think outside of the box. Together, you’ll gain practical skills to effectively employ marketing strategies like direct mail, lead generation, loyalty programs, social-marketing, store-traffic building and pre-selling in all types of media from print and broadcast to the web. You’ll also develop the confidence to organize a sales force through training, compensation, supervising and motivation. What’s more, you can learn this no matter where you are on the map Our courses are offered at our main campus, our off-site locations and online.

As a graduate of our MBA in Strategic Marketing, you’re going to understand the measurability and accountability of direct marketing and how it relates to your company’s overall strategy. You’ll have the practical skills you need to research how to market your products and the confidence to carry out your marketing strategies, no matter what platform you decide to use. Plus, you’ll be familiar with the tools and applications of the social media revolution and be ready to plan, implement, manage and measure your efforts.

Social work is one of the fastest growing professions in the United States with approximately 7,500 new positions available each year. Your timing for pursuing our MSW couldn’t be better. Graduates leave here ready for licensing in every state at multiple practice levels. You have the opportunity to work with individuals, families, children, schools, and health care systems in areas such as mental health, substance abuse, criminal justice, administration, politics, international social work, and more.

The advanced training an MSW degree from CUW provides will increase your job and salary opportunities. We offer full- and part-time options to best accommodate your needs and schedule. Classes are on Mondays so you have more flexibility during the week  for your required field placement and other life priorities.
We are fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). What does this mean and why is it important, you ask? Good Question! The CSWE mission is to ensure those attending social work programs will receive high quality education pertinent to the profession. CUW had to meet vigorous standards and criteria in our programming in order to be in good standing.

Through our social work department, CUW also provides an accredited Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program. Full- and part-time Advanced Standing options are also available for those with a BSW degree from CUW or any CSWE- accredited program.
