Through the master's degree in church music, you’ll be encouraged to strengthen your theological knowledge and grow as a church musician so that you can better guide and enhance others’ worship. Our graduate program is designed to be completed exclusively in summer sessions, or in combination with evening sessions. This allows us to meet your needs outside of the traditional academic year, while still providing the beneficial personal interaction with the faculty. You’ll be able to choose from two areas of emphasis: organ and choral. And even though our courses are taught from a distinctly Lutheran perspective, all denominations are always welcome.

Through this master’s program, you’ll not only perfect your musical abilities, you’ll deepen your understanding of how music ought to relate to theology, specifically in a worship setting. With the combination of these two areas of expertise, you’ll grow in your ability to shape meaningful worship experiences for parishioners. What will your course work look like? Some courses will focus on areas like music theory, arranging, and composing. Others will prepare you for leadership roles in conducting and directing choirs or instrumental groups. Towards the end of your education, you’ll be asked to demonstrate a knowledge of liturgical music practices, musical forms, and the history of music in the church.

Housed within the Batterman School of Business, our MBA in Sport and Entertainment Business allows you to further enhance a career in athletic and entertainment management at or near the executive level. You’ll receive innovative instruction through a curriculum that is current, engaging and challenging. To make sure you get the best education you can, our courses and experiential learning opportunities are designed through the guidance of a professional advisory board made up of seasoned industry practitioners. That means that you’ll be learning the most current information from professors who know what they’re talking about. Alongside a diverse student body, you’ll learn about topics like public relations and social media strategies, sponsorship and sales strategy, brand activation, and event management.

In addition to your classes, you’ll have the opportunity to network with experts in professional and amateur sports. You’ll eve gain hands-on training by working with the program’s industry partners and participating in intensive field experiences at major events. Some students have attended events like the Rose Bowl, the Final Four, the College World Series and the Super Bowl. And we want to make all of this available to you, wherever you are. Our courses are offered at our main campus, our off-site locations and online.

This program will allow you to pursue your goals as a sport or entertainment business executive so you can do what you love. You’ll take courses that focus on critical analysis, solution development, innovation, analytics, finance, and teamwork development. As a student, you’ll have access to academic service learning, field experience, new technologies, as well as online and social media resources - all so that you can enter the field a step ahead. Not only will you come out of the program with expertise in the industry, you’ll also graduate with increased financial competence, leadership growth, and stronger communications skills. This program will help you develop your understanding of major events and themes across the eras. You’ll learn about global history and the philosophy of history, and you’ll gain the skills necessary to read, write, speak of, and teach about history. From ancient civilizations to modern Europe, from Asia to America, from politics to economics, from the history of warfare to the history of food, clothing and sports, studying the past helps us to learn about human nature and thus, ourselves. Is there a particular aspect of history that interests you? As a CUW history student, you’ll get to choose an area of emphasis in American, European, or Global history - so you can focus on what you’re passionate about.

Studying history involves more than reading books.  Your learning will revolve around a process that is applicable in many other fields. You’ll start by locating, evaluating, and organizing historical information. Once you have digested the content and various views, you can begin to develop the historical information into written or oral form. Through this repeated procedure, you develop your ability to summarize, analyze, organize, and synthesize texts from a variety of sources. Wherever your career takes you, you’ll be able to use this process to research, understand and analyze information to make important decisions and gain new insights.

This program nurtures the ability to engage in systematic thinking and provides you with the critical distance to call culture’s dominant assumptions into question and form your own responses. You’ll be immersed in the great conversation of history’s deepest thinkers, trained in logic and ethics, and able to defend faith and human dignity. At this point in time, philosophy has never been so vital – or applicable – to everyday life.
This is a program intended for lovers of wisdom. You’ll develop a trained mind that thinks clearly, precisely, and rigorously. This program will introduce you to the central texts of the world’s greatest ancient, medieval, modern, and contemporary thinkers. You’ll learn the methods of careful definition, logical analysis, and argumentation. In addition to core foundations of a robust philosophy program, our program has special emphases on apologetics, moral philosophy, bioethics, human rights, and human dignity. It all boils down to this: the CUW Philosophy program will prepare you to be a thinker. And since you’ll be able to specialize in any area of philosophy that interests you most, you’ll experience the true thrill of charting your own intellectual course in life.

Not everyone immediately sees the connection between a degree in philosophy and success in the business world, but even a quick glance at some of the top CEOs and entrepreneurs in America shows one thing in common - a philosophy degree. It should come as no surprise that critical thinkers, who think analytically and deeply about problems, would quickly rise to the top. Perhaps most importantly, you will learn how to engage with society’s dominant discourses and trends from a whole different angle than the majority of your peers.

Our traditional undergraduate program in Healthcare Administration will prepare you for roles that may manage a department and/or a healthcare facility. As someone who may have interest in healthcare, but not necessarily direct patient care this may be the degree for you. Through your courses, you will be exposed to business management, finance, human resources, marketing, and more.

In addition, this program will equip you with the ability to evaluate research results that are applicable to your healthcare practice, and teach you how to create a reflective self-plan for personal and professional growth. You’ll discover an ability to recognize and analyze current trends and issues related to healthcare management, which will help you grow throughout your career.

Our graduates go on to work in hospitals, long-term care facilities, medical groups, medical device or pharmaceutical companies, other clinical settings and even insurance companies. You will be prepared with organizational, managerial, and leadership skills to lead a team. As well as, critical thinking and analytical skills to adequately assist, support, and lead among different areas in healthcare.
There are so many intricacies to working in the complex field of healthcare. This program focuses primarily on managing resources in a healthcare setting while working with others in the field of healthcare. It all starts with your ability to recognize every individual as a holistic being created by God – someone whose dignity, worth, and rights deserve to be respected and upheld.

This program will help you grow adept at analyzing different healthcare systems. You’ll grow an ability to synthesize knowledge from the sciences, humanities, and management theories as a basis for problem-solving and decision-making. You will be expected to display a willingness to work cohesively and communicate with members of the interdisciplinary healthcare network.

As a student in this program, you will be required to complete an internship and have opportunity to work in our new collaborative Speech-Language Pathology Clinic in the Robert W. Plaster Building (on campus). During this time, you will collaborate with other practitioners, clinicians, administrators, and patients to gain invaluable experience without having to go beyond the CUW campus.

Additionally, you are encouraged to participate in the – Next Generation Healthcare Leaders (NGHL), a student healthcare group supported by the Wisconsin Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). This will also provide accelerated opportunities for networking and access to local, state, and national healthcare leaders and decision makers to assist our aspiring students who are committed to a career in healthcare.

This program isn’t all ones and zeroes, if that’s what you’re thinking. It’s actually a three-part curriculum that starts with a liberal arts core, moves on to lay a solid foundation in general business, and then offers specialized focus in finance. From accounting to economics and statistics, you’ll set the groundwork for a wide array of financial and business management topics. We’re talking the time value of money, interest rates, financial statements, capital allocation, stocks, bonds, derivatives, economic policy, international trade, foreign currency, regulation, and many others.

At the end of this program, you will know the ins and outs of business commerce you can apply all around the world. You will learn all levels of finance such as corporate and international and fundamental financial management and valuation principles. When you join the workforce you’ll be confident in commercial banking, financial markets, and monetary and fiscal policy.

Once you have your MBA in Accounting, you can pick your industry of choice based on what interests you the most. The important thing is that you’ll be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). This program is designed to provide you with the skills necessary to sit for the national CPA exam. Among other business foundations, you’ll learn essential skills like advanced auditing, global production and operations, as well as systems management and design.
