The increasing complexity of construction projects due to regulations, laws, risk management, and technological advances are increasing the demand for managers with specialized knowledge in the industry. Through our program you will learn the expected standards for construction and trades materials, safety, energy efficiency, environmental protection, and mitigating potential litigation. Sophistication in building materials, construction methods, and technologies are needed to repair and expand infrastructure.

As a graduate of this program, you will be equipped to enter the industry as a leader, problem solver, and innovator. You will become valued members of the team for being able to apply modern knowledge to the planning, cost estimating, scheduling, supervision, and communication of projects in a timely and safe manner.

This program is offered at the Center locations listed below. Please note, specific Construction and Trades Management (CTM) courses will only be offered at Appleton, Kenosha and Madison. Students may take all other courses at any Center location.

Through this program, you will:

• Gain knowledge of a variety of methods of professional communication (orally and written) for construction and trades audiences
• Recognize legal, ethical, and safety issues and apply professional and Christian standards in decision making and problem solving while minimizing risk
• Apply modern methods of electronic technology, cost estimating and control, project scheduling techniques, and project management to chosen field
• Learn field inspection techniques and safety standards while maintaining high quality assurance and control
• Navigate organizational dynamics, including leadership and employee development as relevant to construction and trades organizations

Concordia’s MBA in Management Information Systems will provide you with in-depth knowledge of database modeling, design and implementation. You’ll gain experience in implementing a database design by creating a physical database using the Oracle Application Express tool and SQL - and you’ll have the ability to sit for the Oracle Database SQL Expert exam. You’ll also learn from experienced professors who will help you understand decision support systems (DSS) on topics like data mining, data warehousing architectures, expert systems, artificial intelligence systems and executive information systems.

Our MBA program is designed for working professionals, which means that you can get your degree in two years - while still working full-time. With an MBA in Management Information Systems, you’ll have the skillset and knowledge to lead diverse groups of people in the IT field. You’ll be able to analyze complex business scenarios and create a data model. This concentration in leadership along with the MBA core courses will prepare you to problem solve through practical applications for decision-making in the dynamic business environment. Pairing this core with a concentration in leadership gives you a specific focus on leadership with emphasis on understanding yourself as a leader, leading teams, and leading organizations.Your studies will combine theoretical study of leadership with the practical techniques and skills required in today’s organizations. Data science is the extraction of knowledge from large volumes of data. The CUW data science and applied analytics program will equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to ethically manipulate and effectively analyze data, revealing insights into problem domains.

As a Data Scientist, you extract, visualize, and communicate information from large volumes of data and work in a variety of areas such as Public Health, Sports and Human Performance, and Environmental Issues.
Through this program's curriculum, you will gain knowledge from four main areas of study: math and statistics, computer science, data science and analytics, and communication. The program emphasizes using tools from statistics, mathematics, and technology to extract valuable information from large sets of data and skills from communication to convey information and insights to a broad audience.

As a DSAA student, you may select a concentration in Public Health, Environmental Issues, or Sport and Human Performance to learn context, vernacular, and key issues of a particular field. Some learning outcomes for this program include:

• Analyze and interpret data using an ethical approach stemming from a Christian worldview
• Demonstrate the ability to select the appropriate statistical analysis and execute using statistical software
• Discern appropriate algorithms and software tools as they apply to problem-solving in various user domains
• Apply data science and analytics concepts and strategies to solve real-world problems
• Communicate the solutions efefctively using oral, written, and symbolic formats

This program will help you develop your understanding of major events and themes across the eras. You’ll learn about global history and the philosophy of history, and you’ll gain the skills necessary to read, write, speak of, and teach about history. From ancient civilizations to modern Europe, from Asia to America, from politics to economics, from the history of warfare to the history of food, clothing and sports, studying the past helps us to learn about human nature and thus, ourselves. Is there a particular aspect of history that interests you? As a CUW history student, you’ll get to choose an area of emphasis in American, European, or Global history - so you can focus on what you’re passionate about.

Studying history involves more than reading books.  Your learning will revolve around a process that is applicable in many other fields. You’ll start by locating, evaluating, and organizing historical information. Once you have digested the content and various views, you can begin to develop the historical information into written or oral form. Through this repeated procedure, you develop your ability to summarize, analyze, organize, and synthesize texts from a variety of sources. Wherever your career takes you, you’ll be able to use this process to research, understand and analyze information to make important decisions and gain new insights.

The art education program is designed to provide you with a challenging course of study that will focus on art to enhance your intellectual development, personal growth, and career satisfaction. You will develop your own abilities as an artist and then learn how to help others create and appreciate art. This means, you’ll benefit from a well-rounded overview of the history, purpose, and technical methods of art.

If you don’t have a teaching license, don’t worry. You do not need to have one in order to participate in this program. If you are interested in working with children, their families, and at-risk youth then this program will provide valuable education for you. However, if you have (or are pursuing) your teaching license, then upon completion of the program, you’ll have the option to seek an additional license in art (#1952).

As an educator, you will learn to better understand the role of artistic activity in the human condition, possess an advanced knowledge of art curricula and pedagogy, demonstrate a high level of competence with visual arts media, and be aware of past and current practices in the the field. Our priority is to provide you with the theories that then inform your educational practices. For example, you’ll study how to use works of art, museum visits, and technology to enhance your students’ education.

The CUW business management program builds a strong foundation and offers broad liberal arts and business training you’ll need to not just manage, but to lead in today’s ever shifting business environment.

While in the program, you’ll master current software for designing and managing business projects, while adopting proven project management tools and techniques at each stage in a project’s lifecycle. You’ll gain an understanding of how to integrate organizational strategies that involve the parent, supplier, and sub-supplier organizations working together in domestic and global environments. You will have the opportunity to develop a comprehensive business plan. With successful completion of the program, students will be equipped to demonstrate their skills to manage and coordinate resources to achieve organizational goals.

With a Bachelor’s in Management from CUW, you’ll be well prepared for a huge variety of career paths, including Business analyst, sales, project management, operations and owning your own business. You’ll emerge from the program ready to take on anything from designing business projects to how to manage projects domestically and internationally. Your academic advisors will help you plot the right course for your life. The expertise you gain in this program will serve you throughout your career.

If you intend to pursue a Master of Divinity at seminary, this major provides you with a basic overview of the Scriptures and Lutheran doctrine. While our curriculum teaches Lutheran doctrine and our school is affiliated with the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, all students who desire to prepare for the pastoral office (regardless of denominational affiliation) are welcome. Our theology faculty is made up of pastors dedicated to guiding, challenging, and encouraging you as you work toward completion of this program.

You will study the background and teaching of the Lutheran Church as confessed in the Book of Concord and will be grounded in the Lutheran ethos, identity, and ethic. Although not required, you are encouraged to double major in theological languages alongside the applied theology major. This program provides a solid base for further theological training; it does not train you to be a pastor.

Exercise plays an important role in a person’s overall health and well-being, but if done incorrectly, it can have unpleasant consequences. An understanding of how the body responds and adapts to exercise can help a person achieve peak fitness, lose weight, prevent disease, and maintain physical wellness. CUW’s exercise physiology program can help you harness the expertise needed to be others’ guide on their path to optimal health.

So you can expect the groundwork to be laid for you to be able to go out and do the same for others. By choosing to major in our exercise physiology program, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to learn about the human body and how it responds and adapts to the stress of physical exertion. You’ll be exposed to the theoretical knowledge required to conduct safe and effective fitness evaluations for at-risk populations, and you’ll have ample opportunity to put that knowledge into practice through hands-on learning experiences.

In Concordia’s own Exercise Physiology Laboratory, you’ll learn to assess cardiovascular, neuromuscular, and pulmonary responses. And you’ll spend quite a bit of time studying the sciences to develop a broad understanding of the mechanics within the human body. With all of this knowledge, you can graduate well-prepared to sit for the nationally recognized certification exams offered through the American College of Sports Medicine and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Once you graduate, you can choose to either immediately enter the workforce or pursue professional/graduate studies.

Once you have your MBA in Accounting, you can pick your industry of choice based on what interests you the most. The important thing is that you’ll be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). This program is designed to provide you with the skills necessary to sit for the national CPA exam. Among other business foundations, you’ll learn essential skills like advanced auditing, global production and operations, as well as systems management and design. And you’ll receive direct, one-on-one instruction from current professionals eager to give you the most practical experience you could ask for - so you’ll be prepared for the corporate world.

As a graduate of the program, you’ll not only have greater expertise in accounting, but you’ll also come out as a better leader with the skills to make strategic decisions.
