Graduates of HCA master’s degree programs will achieve competencies in the areas of (1) communications and relationship management, (2) leadership, (3) professionalism, (4) knowledge of health care environment, and (5) business skills and knowledge. These competencies are the main domains of the model based on the American College of Health Care Executives’ (ACHE) Competency Assessment Tool and Healthcare Leadership Alliance’s (HLA) Competency Directory.

The Program’s curriculum was designed, and has been revised over the years, to provide students with the health care management knowledge and skills necessary to meet the changing needs of the health care industry and to conform to academic accreditation criteria. HCA follows a generalist approach in the design of its program and admits students with diverse backgrounds and experiences.

When resources are scarce, difficult choices must be made on how resources are to be divided among competing uses. Economics is a social science that addresses the efficient allocation of scarce resources.

The Master of Public Administration program offers options in health administration and criminal justice. The mission of the Master of Public Administration program is to develop and enhance the theoretical and practical understanding, knowledge, and skills of current and future managers in public service with particular emphasis on the North State region. A major feature of this program is administration in a nonmetropolitan setting.

Fashion Merchandising concentrates on the planning, procurement, and promotion aspects of the fashion business. Students learn to research target markets, analyze business results and develop strategies that effectively meet the needs of consumers in the international market.

The mission of the Fashion Merchandising and Design Program is to offer programs of study to develop professionals in apparel design, product development, production, and merchandising. Instruction, research, and service are combined to meet individual, family, and international community textile and apparel needs.

This program is available to students interested in the manufacturing of computers and the applications and operations aspects of computer hardware and software. Emphasis is placed on specific job skills required of entry level professionals in computer industry, including systems analysis and design, data administration, networking, data communications, data acquisition, oral and written communication, and management principles.

The Master of Science in Finance (MSF) program provides an intensive and fast-track 30-unit degree program to enable its cohort students to earn their graduate degree in 12 months. It is designed to help students identify and analyze various financial management issues to make optimal strategic decisions in today’s global economy. With its focus and alignment to the Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) curriculum, the program offers students an excellent opportunity to learn practical investment skills and a comparative advantage to ultimately earn the CFA charter, while attaining a reputable MSF degree.

This five-semester program offers students close contact with faculty mentors, rigorous training in historical methods (critical analysis, synthesis and writing), and an opportunity to tailor their programs to pursue specific interests in U.S., European, World History, and Ancient and Medieval History.

Students build expertise in two fields of concentration and choose among three final projects: Comprehensive Exams, a thesis, or a teaching unit (primarily for secondary teachers).

The Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering (MSAE) program aims to provide students with advanced training in sub-disciplines of aerospace engineering that combines modern engineering practice and rigorous theoretical framework to enhance students’ pursuit of professional careers and doctoral studies. Photography emphasizes fine art photography and its central position in contemporary art practice. The program is also invested in both traditional and digital photographic applications. Course offerings include such topics as advanced black-and-white printing, color photography, digital photography, studio practices, a theory and criticism seminar, and experimental approaches.

The Counseling Psychology program is a 65-unit course of study that culminates in a Master’s degree and prepares students to meet the competencies required for both the Marriage and Family Therapy License (LMFT) and License for Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCC). Students will be prepared to work in private practice, community-agency settings, government-court settings, hospitals and clinics, Employee Assistance Programs, and city-county-state agencies to provide counseling services for adults, children, families and couples.
