As a Cellular and Molecular Biology major at SPU, you can expect to study molecular structures and processes of cellular life and their roles in the function, reproduction, and development of living organisms. In this major, you will find out more about God's creation through the complexities of cellular and molecular biology.

The SPU physics curriculum provides you with the practice and analytical tools necessary to solve complex problems. From introductory courses where you work with faculty to build your own understanding through inquiry-based activities to advanced independent research projects, as a physics student you’ll learn through active engagement and hands-on experience.

At graduation, as a physics student, you are prepared to apply your skills to research, design, or consulting in physics and physics-related fields. In addition, you will possess critical and creative problem-solving skills that can be utilized in vocations far removed from the discipline of physics.

A Physics major or minor will open up doors to a wide array of exciting and challenging careers.

The Business Administration major provides you with a broad-based education in the fundamental theories, principles, and practices of modern business. You will learn standards of professional and ethical behavior, along with the technical expertise and leadership attributes necessary to attain a variety of positions in business.

As part of the Business Administration major, students also gain vital industry experience by participating in our SBGE internship program. Our students have held internships at leading local businesses and companies such as Starbucks, Boeing, Microsoft, the Seattle Mariners, and Merrill Lynch.

A Marketing concentration prepares you to step into the world of customer service, advertising, sales, or product management.

The Master of Arts in Theology degree program focuses on the classical theological disciplines of Scripture, church history, theology, and ethics, and reflects Seattle Pacific University’s vision to engage the culture and change the world with the transforming gospel of Jesus Christ. The Theological Integration concentration combines rigorous study in the classical theological disciplines with an interdisciplinary focus. You will be prepared to serve in diverse settings and equipped to live a more integrated life of faith and mission as an administrator, manager, or marketplace or Christian organization professional.

The Business Administration major at SPU provides a well-rounded foundation for business. It is a broad-based program in the fundamental theories, principles, and practices of modern business. This program has attained AACSB accreditation, which is the highest level of international certification for business schools.

As a student in the Economics major in the School of Business, Government, and Economics at SPU, you will study many vital issues that affect human flourishing while emphasizing a Christian perspective on individual and society's decisions about how to organize the production and distribution of goods and services.

About the Economics Major

Economics is the study of human decision making, interconnectedness, and the distribution and allocation of scarce resources. This major emphasizes development and financial economics, with a focus on decision making, resource stewardship, and public policy.

Our program prepares students with industry experience through our SBGE internship program. Our students have held internships at leading local businesses and industries such as Safeco, Morgan Stanley, Starbucks, and Nordstrom.

Students pursuing graduate study are encouraged to complete our 15 credit calculus series. Our graduates have gone on to study at top institutions such as Notre Dame, Baylor, and the University of Washington.

A Public Policy concentration prepares you to pursue work and/or further studies in public administration, global development, and politics.

Chemistry forms a foundation for the study of a wide variety of scientific disciplines. It is concerned primarily with matter, energy, and their interactions. Chemists are both creators and problem-solvers who do everything from create new substances to analyze criminal evidence. They are at the forefront of efforts to make sure that technology serves people, rather than the reverse. And at Seattle Pacific University, chemists and chemistry are informed and influenced by a Christian worldview.

When you receive a bachelor of science in Ecology at SPU, you will be ready to work in ecology or biological subdisciplines such as marine biology, forestry, fisheries, agriculture, behavioral ecology, and wildlife management. This major prepares you for graduate studies or a professional ecology/biology career.

About the Ecology Major

As an Ecology major, you will focus on principles that enhance environmental quality and make efficient use of nonrenewable resources. You will also learn to apply this knowledge to help address agricultural and environmental challenges.

The BS in Psychology is designed for students that are passionate about integrating psychology and natural sciences with the goal of pursuing careers or graduate programs such as but not limited to clinical psychology, behavioral or cognitive neuroscience, and animal behavior.

The BS program also prepares students for further study or employment in fields such as behavioral neurobiology, health psychology, and behavioral medicine.

Animal Behavior: Through a biological and psychological perspective on behavior,this track is designed for students  interested in jobs or graduate programs researching animal behavior.

The BS in Psychology is designed for students that are passionate about integrating psychology and natural sciences with the goal of pursuing careers or graduate programs such as but not limited to clinical psychology, behavioral or cognitive neuroscience, and animal behavior.

The BS program also prepares students for further study or employment in fields such as behavioral neurobiology, health psychology, and behavioral medicine.

Psychological Science: This track is designed for students with a broad range of career and graduate school interests but who are also passionate about integrating psychology and natural sciences. Students considering this track would be best prepared for careers or graduate programs such as, but not limited to: Clinical Psychology, Behavioral or Cognitive Neuroscience, and Animal Behavior. This track has the fewest credits required of our BS degrees (minimum of 88 credits, 50 upper division, and at least 20 credits while in residence at SPU). This lower credit requirement provides students with the most flexibility to take additional, strategic courses in Psychology or other disciplines as well as maximize research or internship experiences.
