A foundation in the sciences — with courses in anatomy and physiology, biology, chemistry, microbiology, and statistics — prepares you for the in-depth study of food and nutrition.

Food and Nutritional Sciences General Emphasis
The Food and Nutritional Science emphasis provides a broad background for those students interested in food and nutrition, but who are not seeking the registered dietitian (RD) credential.

Students with this degree may work in clinical, research, public health, or food service settings. The degree also provides an interesting background for those interested in nursing, dental hygiene, the allied health professions such as occupational therapy and physical therapy, culinary programs, and food science.

Are you a musician with a desire to help people cultivate their physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual well-being through music? The Music Therapy Program — the first and only Music Therapy program in Washington state — offers many opportunities for musicians to use their skills and aptitude to serve others through the functional use of music.

The program is designed for you to develop entry-level competencies required as a professional music therapist, prepare you for a six-month clinical internship, and, ultimately, pass the national board certification exam to earn your Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) designation.

Our goal is to provide you with a personalized education of classroom and practical clinical experiences that will allow the music therapist within you to develop to meet professional standards. In this shared journey, you will become increasingly aware of who you are as a musician and how your music can affect the spiritual, mental, physical and psychological well-being of others.

The Master of Arts in Theology degree program focuses on the classical theological disciplines of Scripture, church history, theology, and ethics, and reflects Seattle Pacific University’s vision to engage the culture and change the world with the transforming gospel of Jesus Christ. The Theological Integration concentration combines rigorous study in the classical theological disciplines with an interdisciplinary focus. You will be prepared to serve in diverse settings and equipped to live a more integrated life of faith and mission as an administrator, manager, or marketplace or Christian organization professional.

The program focuses on the development of tactile skills including drawing, painting, printmaking, metallurgy, and sculpture. The goal of the this track is to graduate properly trained, competent artists educated in traditional and contemporary media, grounded by historical and cultural knowledge, and instilled with a desire to explore the spiritual nature of art as an expression of faith.

With a degree in Electrical Engineering, you’ll prepare for a wide set of rewarding career options in a dynamic field. Some of the projects you’ll work on may not even be invented, yet!

Electrical engineers design and develop things such as new energy systems, biomedical equipment, computing technologies, telecommunications, transportation, entertainment, and many more systems related to electricity, electronics, or electromagnetism.

The Accounting major in SPU's School of Business, Government, and Economics is designed to prepare you for a wide range of professional challenges and equip you with the necessary tools to succeed in a variety of key positions throughout the business world.

ACCOUNTING MAJOR
As an Accounting student at Seattle Pacific University, you will begin to master specialized areas such as financial, managerial, and international accounting. 

You will learn about taxation, auditing, budgets, profit-and-loss statements, and information systems alongside many other topics. Our program offers an added dimension of integrity and ethics grounded in Christian faith and values, setting our graduates apart. 

SPU’s BS (bachelor of science) in Computer Science gives you a well-rounded blend of scientific, quantitative, computing, and engineering foundations to prepare you for a career or for graduate studies.

The Christians Traditions concentration of the MA-THEO Degree is designed to expand your knowledge of the Church’s global heritage from the era of the New Testament to the present. You will discover the amazing breadth and depth of God’s redemptive work through time and throughout the world, as well as the ways in which the people of God have sometimes failed to live up to Jesus’ command to love one another

Mechanical engineers apply hands-on physics to model, analyse, and design mechanical and energy systems such as automobiles, aircraft, ships, heating and cooling systems, prosthetics, robots, household appliances, or industrial equipment and machinery.

What’s different? You'll get individual attention from your professors in rigorous, small classes. This degree can be completed in four years at SPU. You'll learn to think critically and solve quandaries through multiple, extended hands-on projects.

Accredited? We are pursuing accreditation through the ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission for the Mechanical Engineering major like we have already achieved for our other engineering majors.

This major leads to a bachelor of science degree.

The degree requirements are identical to the General Engineering/Mechanical Engineering concentration.

The interdisciplinary Politics, Philosophy, & Economics (PPE) major is a unique program which prepares students for leadership in many areas of public service and private enterprise.

About the Politics, Philosophy, & Economics (PPE) Major

PPE is a rigorous, interdisciplinary program that combines studies in political science, philosophy, and economics.  Modeled after a program at Oxford University, PPE core classes study human values, cultural institutions, and economics in order to develop multiperspectival solutions to pressing social problems. PPE students will also choose an area of emphasis from the following tracks: Applied Economics, Financial Economics, International Affairs, Law, Philosophy, Public Administration, and Social Enterprise.

Studying the International Affairs track will educate you on the political and economic development of nations, international law and organizations, and american foreign relations.
