Associate of Arts in Hospitality Administration Management Pathway

The HCC Religious Studies Associate in Arts degree pathway is for students who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree in religion, theology or other religious studies. The broad nature of this pathway allows it to be appropriate for future studies in liberal arts programs, philosophy, and other humanities-directed disciplines.

Please note only 60 of these credits are needed for AA degree completion. For each pathway, IDS 2891 is a degree requirement, and for most of the pathways, SLS 1106 is required for first-time-in-college students. CGS 2100 may be able to be tested out for no credit. Nursing is a challenging, rewarding career. A nationwide nursing shortage means great career opportunities are available. Accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), our nursing AS degree program takes four semesters, and graduates are eligible to take the National licensing exam NCLEX. This pathway is for students who want to pursue a four-year college/university degree in such fields as history, humanities, education, pre-law, political science, museum studies, journalism, library science, archeology/classics or international studies programs. This pathway is broadly designed to allow students to cater the major to their own interests, however, students are encouraged to meet with a full-time history faculty member to discuss their program interests in their first semester at HCC.

The HCC Mathematics Associate in Arts degree pathway is for students who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree at a university in mathematics or a related field. The goal of the mathematics associates degree is to enhance students’ competence in the dynamic disciplines of mathematics and statistics, and includes coursework in college algebra, trigonometry and calculus I, II & III.

Courses offered by the mathematics department promote the ability to reason quantitatively in a variety of ways. Many university programs require the completion of specific courses prior to acceptance. It is the student's responsibility to contact the institution to ensure transferability.

The Communication AA pathway degree is for students who want to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies. The Communication pathway is designed for students with an interest in group dynamics, health communication, persuasion, performance, leadership, gender issues, interpersonal and intercultural communication. This degree prepares students for a variety of careers in event planning, public relations, media, sales, management, marketing, human resources and hospitality.

The computer science engineering AA pathway degree is for students who want to pursue a Bachelor's degree in computer and information engineering sciences. Technical careers may include planning and developing new computer systems, computer programming, software development, systems analyst and technical writing.

The pharmacy AA pathway degree is for students who want to pursue Bachelor's degrees in pharmacy. Pharmacists dispense medications prescribed by physicians as well as educate physicians and the public about proper drug usage. This pathway provides the courses and guiding principles to increase your chances for admission to pharmacy school.

The agriculture AA pathway degree is for students who plan to pursue a Bachelor's degree in agricultural fields such as agricultural education, media, engineering, agronomy, animal science, forestry, plant science, and food science. Careers include teaching, writing, sales, manufacturing, farm management, extension services, animal breeding, other jobs working directly with plants and animals, or a variety of positions in agricultural businesses and related industries.
