Associate of Arts in Medical Sciences - Dental, Medical and Veterinary Pathway

This pathway is for students who want to pursue a four-year degree in computer and information technology security.  Cybersecurity degrees lead to positions as a systems administrator, intelligence analyst, network engineer, information security manager, network security engineer, or information systems analyst.

The medical sciences pathway AA degree is ideal for students who wish to pursue Bachelor's degrees and/or professional programs in the dental, medical or veterinary fields. Depending upon your chosen degree, careers include dentist, physician, chiropractor, pharmacist, veterinarian and teacher, plus a variety of other jobs in related fields such as physical or occupational therapist, researcher and salesperson.

The AA pathway in Anthropology is for students who want to pursue a bachelor's degree in anthropology or a related field. Anthropology is the study of humans, past and present. To understand the full sweep and complexity of cultures across human history, anthropology draws and builds upon knowledge from the social and biological sciences as well as the humanities and physical sciences.

The business administration and management AS degree prepares you to assume management or supervisory positions in business, industry and government. Learn basic skills in a broad range of business functions, including accounting, computer usage, management and marketing.

Nursing is a challenging, rewarding career. A nationwide nursing shortage means great career opportunities are available. Accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), our nursing AS degree program takes four semesters, and graduates are eligible to take the National licensing exam NCLEX. The public health AA pathway is for students interested in earning Bachelor's degrees in public health or related fields. This program provides a broad-level understanding of the goals and challenges of public administration and the relationship of these to more specialized aspects of planning, organization, management, and analysis in the public sector at the national, state, and local levels.

Please note only 60 of these credits are needed for AA degree completion. For each pathway, IDS 2891 is a degree requirement, and for most of the pathways, SLS 1106 is required for first-time-in-college students. CGS 2100 may be able to be tested out for no credit. The business administration AA pathway is for students who wish to transfer to a four-year college or university to pursue a Bachelor's degree in business, specializing in fields such as accounting, economics, finance, insurance, marketing, or management. Careers include management positions in nearly every business and industry, such as sales, accountant, labor negotiator and business owner.

The Communication AA pathway degree is for students who want to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies. The Communication pathway is designed for students with an interest in group dynamics, health communication, persuasion, performance, leadership, gender issues, interpersonal and intercultural communication. This degree prepares students for a variety of careers in event planning, public relations, media, sales, management, marketing, human resources and hospitality.

If you plan to earn a Bachelor's degree in education with the goal of becoming a teacher, the education teacher preparation AA pathway degree is designed for you. You must have a standard high school diploma or a GED to qualify for this program.

The agriculture AA pathway degree is for students who plan to pursue a Bachelor's degree in agricultural fields such as agricultural education, media, engineering, agronomy, animal science, forestry, plant science, and food science. Careers include teaching, writing, sales, manufacturing, farm management, extension services, animal breeding, other jobs working directly with plants and animals, or a variety of positions in agricultural businesses and related industries.
