The Psychology AA pathway is for students who plan to pursue a bachelor's degree in psychology at a college or university. This degree provides the lower division psychology major courses required at many universities while exposing students to the core principles and practices of the psychology field.

This degree enables students to develop a strong foundation in research methods, statistics and biological aspects of behavior, and will offer a variety of elective courses to help students develop their knowledge of human behavior, critical thinking, communication and problem-solving skills. Many university programs require the completion of specific courses prior to acceptance. It is the student's responsibility to contact the institution to ensure transferability.

Please note only 60 of these credits are needed for AA degree completion. For each pathway, IDS 2891 is a degree requirement, and for most of the pathways, SLS 1106 is required for first-time-in-college students. CGS 2100 may be able to be tested out for no credit. The HCC Associate in Arts degree in Dance is for students who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree in dance or further their dance training at the university level or pursue a dance career. Dance courses are rigorous and demanding, but offer students opportunities for artistic explorations, creative thinking and individual growth. The associate in arts emphasis in dance provides a comprehensive sequence of technique, choreography, repertory and analysis courses. Careers include performing, teaching, writing and directing.

The Humanities AA pathway is for students who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree in Humanities or a related field. Humanities is an interdisciplinary program with coursework that covers a broad range of studies. The curriculum encourages students to broaden their world view by studying history, literature, fine arts, philosophy, and foreign languages.

The criminology and criminal justice studies AS degree prepares you to work in corrections, juvenile justice, investigations, private security, homeland security or crime scene investigations. Graduates may transfer to a university to seek Bachelor’s degrees. Graduates of a law enforcement academy may receive college credit hours toward this degree. A variety of tracks are available depending on your career goals.

Career specializations may include fingerprint training, private security and investigations, victim advocacy, and crime analysis.

The HCC Religious Studies Associate in Arts degree pathway is for students who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree in religion, theology or other religious studies. This pathway is for students who want to pursue a four-year degree in music, music education, therapy, publishing, or music history. Careers include performing, composing, teaching, music therapy, music critic, booking agent, concert manager, publishing, sales, music storeowner, instrument repair, audio and sound technician.

The office administration: office management technology AS degree prepares you for mid-management office positions such as administrative office manager, office manager, equipment sales representative, administrative support manager, staff assistant, executive secretary, human resource technician, office manager, or executive assistant.

The engineering AA pathway is for students who wish to pursue Bachelor's degrees in electrical, mechanical, civil, computer science, aerospace, nuclear, agricultural, industrial, and environmental engineering. Options in surveying and mapping, and materials design and testing are also available.

Careers include positions in the areas of design, testing, research, architecture, electronics, robotics, manufacturing, sales, construction management, and technical writing.
