The HCC Religious Studies Associate in Arts degree pathway is for students who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree in religion, theology or other religious studies. The broad nature of this pathway allows it to be appropriate for future studies in liberal arts programs, philosophy, and other humanities-directed disciplines.

Please note only 60 of these credits are needed for AA degree completion. For each pathway, IDS 2891 is a degree requirement, and for most of the pathways, SLS 1106 is required for first-time-in-college students. CGS 2100 may be able to be tested out for no credit. The Foreign Language AA pathway is for students who plan to transfer to a Florida public university as a junior to complete a bachelors’ degree with a major or minor in a Foreign Language.

This broad interdisciplinary approach can lead to a variety of career paths in government and international affairs, business, journalism, service professions, education, criminal justice, social sciences and public health.

A Business Intelligence Specialist AS degree enables students to develop an understanding of Business Intelligence (BI) and data analytics.  BI is a broad-based term that cuts across many disciplines of general business, health care, marketing, retail, banking, manufacturing, and criminal justice. BI allows an organization to statistically predict the future while giving the organization a competitive advantage.

The HCC Philosophy Associate in Arts degree pathway is a for students who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree in philosophy at a college or university. The associate degree provides students with the foundational knowledge required to enhance their understanding of philosophy as a critical inquiry of nature and human society, to analyze and evaluate major paradigms in philosophy from historical and contemporary perspectives, to sharpen critical thinking and argumentative skills, and to prepare students to transfer to a university.

This degree offers students a fundamental understanding of the main fields of philosophy, including logic, ethics, epistemology, metaphysics, social and political philosophy, aesthetics, and philosophy of religion while exposing students to a broad spectrum of philosophical theories. Many university programs require the completion of specific courses prior to acceptance. It is the student's responsibility to contact the institution to ensure transferability.

This pathway is for students who want to pursue a four-year degree in Philosophy.

The engineering AA pathway is for students who wish to pursue Bachelor's degrees in electrical, mechanical, civil, computer science, aerospace, nuclear, agricultural, industrial, and environmental engineering. Options in surveying and mapping, and materials design and testing are also available.

Careers include positions in the areas of design, testing, research, architecture, electronics, robotics, manufacturing, sales, construction management, and technical writing. The office administration: office management technology AS degree prepares you for mid-management office positions such as administrative office manager, office manager, equipment sales representative, administrative support manager, staff assistant, executive secretary, human resource technician, office manager, or executive assistant.

The business administration and management AS degree prepares you to assume management or supervisory positions in business, industry and government. Learn basic skills in a broad range of business functions, including accounting, computer usage, management and marketing.

The criminology and criminal justice studies AS degree prepares you to work in corrections, juvenile justice, investigations, private security, homeland security or crime scene investigations. Graduates may transfer to a university to seek Bachelor’s degrees. Graduates of a law enforcement academy may receive college credit hours toward this degree. A variety of tracks are available depending on your career goals.

Career specializations may include fingerprint training, private security and investigations, victim advocacy, and crime analysis.

The HCC Associate in Arts degree in Theatre is for students who wish to pursue a bachelor's in drama or theatre. This pathway provides a foundation in acting, technical design, back stage work and production. Additional careers include directing, writing and teaching.

Attention all Visual and Performing Arts Students:
Due to the sequential nature of arts tracks, beginning your chosen track of electives in your first semester of study is imperative. Postponement of arts electives will result in additional time spent to complete the curriculum. Therefore, it is strongly suggested that students avoid taking electives outside their designated track in order to avoid potential financial aid or graduation issues.
