Associate of Science in Medical Office Administration - Management Option

This Associate in Arts pathway is for students who intend to pursue a bachelor's degree at a college or university in biological sciences: general, marine or aquatic.

The HCC Statistics Associate in Arts degree pathway is for students who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree in statistics or a related field at a four-year university. Many university programs require the completion of specific courses prior to acceptance. It is the student's responsibility to contact the institution to ensure transferability.

Please note only 60 of these credits are needed for AA degree completion. For each pathway, IDS 2891 is a degree requirement, and for most of the pathways, SLS 1106 is required for first-time-in-college students. CGS 2100 may be able to be tested out for no credit. Consult an academic advisor with questions related to pathways and course planning.

The HCC Associate in Arts degree in Dance is for students who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree in dance or further their dance training at the university level or pursue a dance career. Dance courses are rigorous and demanding, but offer students opportunities for artistic explorations, creative thinking and individual growth. The associate in arts emphasis in dance provides a comprehensive sequence of technique, choreography, repertory and analysis courses. Careers include performing, teaching, writing and directing.

In Hillsborough Community College’s Early Childhood Education Program, you will develop the skills you need to create safe, healthy and nurturing learning environments that meet the emotional, social, intellectual and physical needs of children in care.

The purpose of this program is to prepare students for employment as early childhood professionals, preschool teachers, child development center managers, and to provide supplementary training for persons previously or currently employed in these occupations.

HCC’s early childhood programs (AS.EDU, AS.PRE) are designed to prepare students for the Florida Staff Credential.  The academic requirements for professional certification in other states vary. HCC has not yet determined the status of this credential in all states.

HCC’s early childhood management course (EEC1521) meets the academic requirement for the Florida Director Credential. The academic requirements for administrative certification in other states vary. HCC has not yet determined the status of this credential in all states.

The office administration: office management technology AS degree prepares you for mid-management office positions such as administrative office manager, office manager, equipment sales representative, administrative support manager, staff assistant, executive secretary, human resource technician, office manager, or executive assistant.

The Psychology AA pathway is for students who plan to pursue a bachelor's degree in psychology at a college or university. This degree provides the lower division psychology major courses required at many universities while exposing students to the core principles and practices of the psychology field.

This degree enables students to develop a strong foundation in research methods, statistics and biological aspects of behavior, and will offer a variety of elective courses to help students develop their knowledge of human behavior, critical thinking, communication and problem-solving skills. The Associate in Arts degree in art is for students who may wish to transfer to a college or university to pursue a bachelor of arts in fields such as fine arts, art education or art history. Course offerings present art students with a broad and rounded education, including instruction in art history, drawing, printmaking, painting, digital art, sculpture, ceramics and photography. Art students will have multiple opportunities to display their work in the campus galleries as well as curate and host events, giving them experience and insight into gallery practices.

This pathway is for students who want to pursue a four-year college/university degree in such fields as fine arts, art education, art history, and design. The track offers foundation courses in studio skills and studio methods. Major studies include design, drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, photography, and graphic art. Depending upon personal development, students may choose to work in a variety of art media or concentrate in a specialized area.

A Business Intelligence Specialist AS degree enables students to develop an understanding of Business Intelligence (BI) and data analytics.  BI is a broad-based term that cuts across many disciplines of general business, health care, marketing, retail, banking, manufacturing, and criminal justice.
