The MA in English with a specialization in Writing, Rhetoric, and Social Change allows you to pursue the study of writing and writing instruction, including the theory and practice of writing and writing instruction; the roles writing plays in public and private contexts; the composing processes used by writers in varying contexts and for particular purposes; the social, cultural, and historical forces shaping writing and writing instruction; and the impact of technology on writing and writing instruction.

The Master of Applied Statistics Data Science Specialization emphasizes practical methods in statistics and data science, focusing on applications and computational aspects, rather than theory. Students will receive a strong background in statistical and business computing while completing at least 30 credits for this degree. The degree can be complete full-time in one year or part-time in two to four years. Students who succeed in the field of data science typically have strong quantitative skills, analytical minds, and like to help other people solve problems. The goal of this degree is to enable students to start working as data scientists in business, industry, or government immediately after graduation.

The Department of Environmental and Radiological Health Sciences offers a wide variety of graduate opportunities in cancer biology and oncology; occupational and environmental health (i.e., industrial hygiene, ergonomics); health physics, radiation sciences (i.e., radiobiology, radioecology, radiochemistry) epidemiology and toxicology.

Our M.S. program offers a range of opportunities in health-focused coursework that allows you to experience science-based, rigorous research first hand. Our graduate students are encouraged to seek out a lab that reflects their interests, where they can participate in hands on research in many disciplines of study, including health span, prevention and treatment of metabolic disorders, researching neuromuscular disease and disability, investigating cancer recurrence and engaging with the physical and mental health of active duty military and first responders. The Ethnic Studies major involves critically examining the interlocking forces of race, gender, class, sexuality, and other forms of social differentiation that shape the histories and experiences of racially marginalized groups. The programs of study interrogate how these socially constructed ideas impact distribution of social goods, affect life chances, shape identities and worldviews, and reproduce social inequalities. Drawing from interdisciplinary and comparative theoretical frameworks, we bring to bear issues of power, privilege, and social justice pertinent to the experiences of diverse populations in the U.S. and abroad. We are especially committed to nurturing civic-minded and culturally informed students who strive to strengthen the communities in which they reside.
