Prevention science focuses on strategies that reduce risk factors and promote positive development to improve the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities. The master’s degree includes coursework in lifespan development, risk and resilience, and family functioning. In addition, you will be trained in program development, implementation, and evaluation, as well as research design and grant writing, to help prepare you for various careers in the human services, or to go on to doctoral studies.

Graduate students in the Department of Communication Studies undertake a more specialized study of human communication from its classical antecedents to contemporary areas.

The Graduate Degree Program in Ecology (GDPE) is one of the leading programs in graduate ecology education in the U.S. and the world. We have an ongoing tradition of research excellence, publication and post-graduate placement.

Our unique interdisciplinary program allows students a variety of learning and networking opportunities. GDPE is jointly administered by CSU’s College of Agricultural Sciences, College of Natural Sciences, and the Warner College of Natural Resources to engage students with expert faculty across multiple departments. The International Studies major is an interdisciplinary program designed to help you explore and understand the nature of diverse cultures and peoples. You’ll learn a broad range of subjects, all of which contribute to a wide range of job prospects from government, academics, law and foreign service to communications, media, journalism, and beyond. Within the major, you’ll have multiple opportunities to travel, learn languages, and explore cultures around the world. This major includes an accelerated option for students to graduate on a faster schedule.

European Studies - Concentration
This interdisciplinary concentration combines European history, religion, philosophy, literature, art, and political science, along with three years of language (French, German, Russian, Spanish, or substitution with advisor approval) to give you the tools to understand and interpret the continent’s rich-and-intriguing past and present.

The growth and demand for highly trained, competent professionals in the dynamic field of finance is greater now than ever before. Our STEM-designated, Master of Finance program teaches how to apply quantitative methods to the complex discipline of finance with an emphasis on building job-ready skills.

This program is rigorous and practical featuring a comprehensive study of real-world corporate and investment risk measurement and management. You’ll become proficient in the theoretical principles, processes and practices of modern finance, and learn to apply them in real-world scenarios.

You’ll gain the ability to gather, assess and communicate financial data to guide business and investment decisions, and graduate prepared to sit for industry exams.

The Department of English is home to poets and linguists, literacy researchers and teacher educators, novelists and literary scholars, composition specialists and writers of creative nonfiction.

The Environmental Politics and Policy track builds upon the Department of Political Science’s international reputation for excellence in the study of the natural environment across the traditional subfields of political science. As a land-grant University, CSU offers a wide variety of environmental programs that students can leverage for advancing their academic and career goals. This specialization enables students to pursue careers in the public, private, and non-profit sectors that require expertise in environmental issues and/or political and policy processes. It will also serve as a springboard for students interested in pursuing doctoral studies in environmental politics and policy.
