You’ll start with two foundational theatre years, then choose from three concentrations — Design and Technology, General Theatre, and Performance — where you’ll get to specialize in your interest areas and get deep experience to prepare you for your career.

Performance - Concentration
CSU Theatre's Performance Concentration equips students with the skills needed to pursue a variety of fields related to their own creative and professional paths. Engaged with their passion and imagination, young performers receive rigorous training in text analysis, acting technique, movement, voice and speech, emotional expression, and critical thinking. In the process of understanding theatre, they make visceral connections between the physical, emotional, and scholarly as they harness their own stories and artistic vision.

The concentration emphasizes both the theoretical and practical aspects of theatre, and focuses on developing well-rounded, responsible artists, leaders, and communicators who value collaboration within an artistic community.

Students in this track will have the opportunity to build networks with CSU’s Institute for Research in the Social Sciences, Geospatial Centroid, the Graybill Statistics and Data Science Laboratory, and others on campus who use political or social science data. Students in this track will be trained to pursue careers as data analysts, researchers, and consultants in government, non-profits, campaigns, advocacy groups, or the private sector.

The growth and demand for highly trained, competent professionals in the dynamic field of finance is greater now than ever before. Our STEM-designated, Master of Finance program teaches how to apply quantitative methods to the complex discipline of finance with an emphasis on building job-ready skills.

This program is rigorous and practical featuring a comprehensive study of real-world corporate and investment risk measurement and management. You’ll become proficient in the theoretical principles, processes and practices of modern finance, and learn to apply them in real-world scenarios.

You’ll gain the ability to gather, assess and communicate financial data to guide business and investment decisions, and graduate prepared to sit for industry exams.

The Department of English is home to poets and linguists, literacy researchers and teacher educators, novelists and literary scholars, composition specialists and writers of creative nonfiction.

The MA in English with a specialization in Writing, Rhetoric, and Social Change allows you to pursue the study of writing and writing instruction, including the theory and practice of writing and writing instruction; the roles writing plays in public and private contexts; the composing processes used by writers in varying contexts and for particular purposes; the social, cultural, and historical forces shaping writing and writing instruction; and the impact of technology on writing and writing instruction.

The Business major encourages critical thinking while exploring modern management theories, relevant business practices, and current industry trends. You’ll discover your interests along the way and begin to focus your studies based on your interests and talents. Then you can choose from 10 concentrations to merge your academic focus with your career goals.

Organization and Innovation Management - Concentration
No matter the industry, no matter the business, managers play a key role in bringing diverse stakeholders and team members together to achieve common goals. From negotiating deadlines and budgets to overseeing projects and workgroups, management skills are integral to a variety of career paths.

The organization and innovation management concentration in the CSU College of Business refines your natural leadership skills. Through coursework taught by knowledgeable and engaging faculty, you’ll learn the skills you need to innovate, lead others and make informed and ethical decisions that advance both short- and long-term efforts.

In this major, you’ll focus on field crops and soils, learning the foundation sciences underlying the production and management of food, feed, and energy crops to meet human needs and protect the environment. Special emphasis is placed on production efficiency and the conservation of soil, energy, plants, and water. You’ll get broad-based coverage of natural and social sciences, communication skills, and opportunities to explore interests and leadership potential.

The Major in Soil and Crop Sciences provides hands-on training and expert instruction that will equip students to solve current global challenges in soil, plant, and environmental sciences.

The demand for students with a fundamental understanding of soil and crop sciences combined with technical and data skills has never been greater. Our graduates go on to exciting careers in industry, government, entrepreneurship, and academia, with 84% employed within 6 months of graduation.

The International Studies major is an interdisciplinary program designed to help you explore and understand the nature of diverse cultures and peoples. You’ll learn a broad range of subjects, all of which contribute to a wide range of job prospects from government, academics, law and foreign service to communications, media, journalism, and beyond. Within the major, you’ll have multiple opportunities to travel, learn languages, and explore cultures around the world. This major includes an accelerated option for students to graduate on a faster schedule.

European Studies - Concentration
This interdisciplinary concentration combines European history, religion, philosophy, literature, art, and political science, along with three years of language (French, German, Russian, Spanish, or substitution with advisor approval) to give you the tools to understand and interpret the continent’s rich-and-intriguing past and present.

The Cell and Molecular Biology Program offers research opportunities from a wide variety of fields to include the molecular and cellular aspects of cancer biology, infectious disease, metabolism (includes biofuels), neuroscience, plant biology, molecular physiology, gene expression, reproductive biology, developmental biology and structural biology.

The Environmental Politics and Policy track builds upon the Department of Political Science’s international reputation for excellence in the study of the natural environment across the traditional subfields of political science. As a land-grant University, CSU offers a wide variety of environmental programs that students can leverage for advancing their academic and career goals. This specialization enables students to pursue careers in the public, private, and non-profit sectors that require expertise in environmental issues and/or political and policy processes. It will also serve as a springboard for students interested in pursuing doctoral studies in environmental politics and policy.

The Master of Applied Statistics Data Science Specialization emphasizes practical methods in statistics and data science, focusing on applications and computational aspects, rather than theory. Students will receive a strong background in statistical and business computing while completing at least 30 credits for this degree. The degree can be complete full-time in one year or part-time in two to four years. Students who succeed in the field of data science typically have strong quantitative skills, analytical minds, and like to help other people solve problems. The goal of this degree is to enable students to start working as data scientists in business, industry, or government immediately after graduation.
