Colorado State University’s Master of Tourism Management program teaches the skills needed by future leaders of the rapidly expanding global tourism industry.  Our holistic approach blends sustainable tourism practices, strategic analysis and industry expertise based on input from our Advisory Board.

The demands and complexities of the tourism system today require a holistic approach to advanced education. We provide an exceptional educational opportunity in an interdisciplinary nine-month accelerated master’s program with an emphasis on applied and experiential learning. Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) is an exciting field with many career opportunities. The mission of this interdepartmental major is to prepare professionals dedicated to enhancing the well-being of individuals, families, and the communities and environments in which they live and/or work.

Students graduate with an interdisciplinary perspective about the challenges encountered by families and consumers. Through coursework, students gain skills to assist families and consumers with quality of life decisions and challenges related to interpersonal/human relationships, consumer and financial resource management, personal development, nutrition and wellness, and balancing family and work.

This program emphasizes the management and problem-solving skills needed to be a responsible and productive individual, family member, and worker. Students take coursework in a variety of departments including, but not limited to:

• Health and Exercise Sciences

Students have the option of the FCS concentration or the FCS Education concentration. Upon graduating, students will be eligible to take the exam to be certified in FCS with the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.

You love knowing where your food comes from. You like to understand the science and business behind raising animals. This major focuses on the study of food-producing animals with foundation courses in the sciences. You’ll choose from specialized courses to enhance your technical, practical, and business skills, and have opportunities to participate in hands-on research and experience in the field with industry professionals and animals.

Prevention science focuses on strategies that reduce risk factors and promote positive development to improve the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities. The master’s degree includes coursework in lifespan development, risk and resilience, and family functioning. In addition, you will be trained in program development, implementation, and evaluation, as well as research design and grant writing, to help prepare you for various careers in the human services, or to go on to doctoral studies.

Feeding the world. Protecting the environment. Improving quality of life. These global challenges are a focus of teaching, research and outreach in the CSU College of Agricultural Sciences.

The Agricultural Education major is designed for students who want to learn and teach the science, business, and technology of agriculture, food, and environmental/natural resource systems. Students will develop and refine their communication skills, along with other attributes necessary to serve as educational leaders and managers. Agricultural Education prepares students for successful careers and a lifetime of informed choices within the field.

The Department of Environmental and Radiological Health Sciences offers a wide variety of graduate opportunities in cancer biology and oncology; occupational and environmental health (i.e., industrial hygiene, ergonomics); health physics, radiation sciences (i.e., radiobiology, radioecology, radiochemistry) epidemiology and toxicology.

Collaboratively formed in 2008 by the University of Colorado, Colorado State University, and the University of Northern Colorado, the Colorado School of Public Health  provides training, innovative research and community service to actively address public health issues including chronic disease, access to healthcare, environmental threats, emerging infectious diseases, and costly injuries.
