Prevention science focuses on strategies that reduce risk factors and promote positive development to improve the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities. The master’s degree includes coursework in lifespan development, risk and resilience, and family functioning. In addition, you will be trained in program development, implementation, and evaluation, as well as research design and grant writing, to help prepare you for various careers in the human services, or to go on to doctoral studies.

The Department of Environmental and Radiological Health Sciences offers a wide variety of graduate opportunities in cancer biology and oncology; occupational and environmental health (i.e., industrial hygiene, ergonomics); health physics, radiation sciences (i.e., radiobiology, radioecology, radiochemistry) epidemiology and toxicology.

The Department of Ecosystem Science and Sustainability investigates the intricate physical, chemical, human, and biological interactions driving ecosystems.  We help develop leaders in ecosystem, watershed, and sustainability sciences: a new generation of practitioners able to address complex, integrated social-ecological problems, in collaborative partnerships with researchers, resource users and decision-makers.

You might be interested in the “boots on the ground” side of agriculture, but you also might be interested in policies that affect it. The Geography major is housed in the Department of Anthropology and Geography. Through coursework and internship opportunities, majors are provided with a broad background in geographic thinking. The major emphasizes interactions between humans and the environment in an era of rapid global change. Critical study of diverse relationships between space, place, humans, built and natural environments allows students to interpret geographic features, patterns and processes.

The Geography curriculum also concentrates specifically on mountain ecosystems and human-environment interactions. Coursework takes advantage of faculty expertise in these areas of study, some of which are specific to the state of Colorado. Geography faculty use a wide range of research methods, including geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing, spatial modeling, spatial statistics, participatory methods and ethnography to address applied research questions in Colorado, the Rocky Mountains, Patagonia, Southeast Asia, Latin America, Melanesia, and Africa. Master of Accountancy candidates will learn the skills and gain the confidence to secure competitive management positions and exciting accounting roles in public firms or in industry.  The program offers you an opportunity to study general accountancy or specialize in one of three areas: taxation, data analytics and systems; and financial analysis, auditing and reporting.  These specializations let you focus your learning and prepare you to conduct targeted technical research and data analysis.
