Fine Arts

This degree is for students who may be interested in a double major in areas such as education, marketing, computer science, or film. Students have the option of a general fine arts degree, or a specialization in design, painting, or sculpture-industrial design.

Women's Studies
The Women's Studies Program draws upon faculty with expertise in women’s and gender issues in the humanities, social sciences, and the arts. Courses in the program provide interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives on gender roles, allow students to examine the social, political, economic, intellectual, and cultural contributions of women past and present, and to study women’s and men’s lives in the context of changing gender roles.

Physics
The BS in Physics is better suited for students who are planning careers as research scientists or in technology fields that require advanced degrees in physics or engineering.

This is a more intensive program, with more required coursework in fine arts and art history than the BA degree. In addition, students must select a specialization from one of the following areas:

• Painting
• Design and New Media and Industrial Design
• Photography
• Sculpture
• Ceramics

The Bachelor of Arts is designed to give students a comprehensive understanding of biology and a strong liberal arts foundation. It is ideal for students planning to pursue graduate studies in another area, such as business, K-12 education, engineering or law.

Students may major in biology or urban ecology, and specializations are available in pre-health, cell/molecular biology, as well as marine and freshwater biology, ecology, secondary education and conservation biology, among others.

Biology - Ecology and Evolution

The Bachelor of Science is appropriate for students planning graduate studies in biology and professional pursuits in the fields of biology, medicine or higher education. The BS has an options requirement – areas of specialized learning. Choose from Cell and Molecular Biology; Ecology and Evolution; Marine Biology; Pre-Medical, Pre-Dental and Pre-Veterinary Studies; and Secondary Education.

Forensic Linguistics, the scientific study of language, is a vital investigative tool for law enforcement and intelligence experts in the United States and around the world. The Master of Arts (MA) in Forensic Linguistics, the first program of its kind in the Western Hemisphere, will teach you how to use a linguist’s core tools, including phonetics, syntax, semantics and sociolinguistics, to analyze language in legal and other real-world settings. Learn from brilliant scholars who have worked with the FBI and consulted on an extensive array of criminal cases and counterterrorism efforts. Our program combines a broad-based academic experience with applied workshops and internship opportunities working on ongoing cases.

Accounting
The MBA in Accounting program prepares students for managerial positions in various types of organizations. The program builds on core business competencies and functional specialization to impart to its students decision analysis skills and a strategic perspective of business problems. This program is not intended to include sufficient course work in accounting and taxation to qualify students for licensure as certified public accountants. Students intending to pursue licensure may need to supplement the program requirements with other accounting, business, legal studies, and tax courses, taken under advisement.
