Classical Languages and Literatures

The concentration in Classical Languages and Literatures emphasizes language training in ancient Greek and/or Latin and provides the student with a strong background in classical literature and in related areas of study within classics – for example, ancient history, philosophy, art history, and the religious traditions of Greece and Rome and early Christianity.

Forensic Linguistics, the scientific study of language, is a vital investigative tool for law enforcement and intelligence experts in the United States and around the world. The Master of Arts (MA) in Forensic Linguistics, the first program of its kind in the Western Hemisphere, will teach you how to use a linguist’s core tools, including phonetics, syntax, semantics and sociolinguistics, to analyze language in legal and other real-world settings. Learn from brilliant scholars who have worked with the FBI and consulted on an extensive array of criminal cases and counterterrorism efforts. This degree is for students who may be interested in a double major in areas such as education, marketing, computer science, or film. Students have the option of a general fine arts degree, or a specialization in design, painting, or sculpture-industrial design.

The BS in Mathematics is appropriate for students planning graduate studies in mathematics or professional pursuits in the field of mathematics. The BS requires the completion of one of seven tracks: mathematics, actuarial science, applied mathematics, chemistry, physics, engineering, or computer science.

Latin American and Caribbean Studies (LACS) offers a wide array of courses on Latin America, the Caribbean, and related diasporas in the United States. This interdisciplinary program features courses from departments throughout the University, and it also offers senior seminars and opportunities for independent coursework and study abroad.

A LACS major or minor would be an asset to any student planning a career in business, law, communications, travel, government, nongovernment agencies, environmental organizations, and other areas.

Film Studies and Production

Designed for the student who is interested in the creation and production of narrative or documentary feature or short films; you'll study writing, designing, directing, and editing films in traditional and digital formats.
