The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Resources is the application of geology and the natural sciences to issues of environmental sustainability, natural resource management, resource development, and conservation. The Master of Health Administration (MHA) degree is available through an on-campus CAHME-accredited program as well as an online program. Computer Engineering

Computer Engineering students at Hofstra learn to design hardware and software for the computing devices and systems that serve as the foundation for nearly every critical institution in society. Indeed, few degrees are more immediately valuable in today’s workplace. Our graduates move into a variety of well-paying jobs, from software engineering, operating systems development, and the design of hardware systems and complex networks, to creating and managing mobile devices, sensing and control systems, biomedical devices, and more.

Take your place as an innovative leader in sports and recreation through the Master of Science in Sports Science at Hofstra University. Develop a design and implementation skill set for creating training programs that enhance athletic performance and reduce injuries.

The Strength and Conditioning concentration is designed to prepare students to work with athletes as strength and conditioning coaches in college, professional, private, and secondary school settings. Students will develop the skills necessary to design and implement population-specific training programs that enhance athletic performance and reduce injury risk. The foundation of course work is in areas of bio-mechanics, exercise physiology, performance testing, periodization, program design, and sport nutrition. In addition, all students will have opportunities to complete various fieldwork experiences.

The BA in Dance complements the University’s liberal arts program and allows students to pursue a second major or minor in an additional area of interest. Students are provided with a rigorous program of dance training, as well as the same opportunities as the other dance degrees to audition for all faculty and student performances.

The BACHELOR of SCIENCE in COMPUTER ENGINEERING program is concerned with the design of hardware and software for computing devices and systems. Computer Engineering students take a rigorous set of courses in hardware and software related topics. Graduates with a degree in computer engineering typically secure jobs that involve the design of embedded systems, mobile devices, automotive sensing and control systems and biomedical devices to name a few. They are also capable of working in software roles such as software engineering and web and mobile development.

Web and Mobile Engineering

The concentration in Web and Mobile Engineering is aimed at educating students in the field of Web and mobile computer applications. This is a continually growing and changing field. Almost all computer applications must provide access on the Web and/or mobile devices. Courses in this concentration offer a hands-on approach to learning Web and mobile programming.

This degree offers a broad-based program, with fewer major hours and more liberal arts elective hours.

Music History and Literature Concentration
Courses in historical musical topics, with emphasis on bibliography and research techniques, provide a foundation for graduate study leading to careers in musicology, musical criticism, and music librarianship.
