The BACHELOR OF ARTS IN COMPUTER SCIENCE gives students a solid foundation in computer science. Fewer required courses in the major and more electives allow students to pursue minors and a second major in other departments. Urban Ecology
Urban Ecology is a subfield of ecology that deals with the distribution, abundance and interactions of plants and animals (including humans) within urban and suburban environments. Graduates with master's degrees in urban ecology find employment in a wide variety of public and private institutions and agencies, including environmental education, environmental consulting, natural resource management and conservation with both non-governmental and local/state/federal organizations. Children's and YA Literature

The department’s newest concentration draws on the resources and faculty expertise within the English Department and also reaches out to other areas of the University, including child psychology and literacy studies.

Help solve the biggest challenges of our time, from social injustices to climate change, when you enroll in the MA in Sustainability program at Hofstra University. This program takes a balanced approach in trying to understand how to make developed countries more sustainable while also addressing the sustainability crisis in the developing world. With a focus on entrepreneurship, community development and sustainability management, the program teaches students to be part of the emerging green economy. Work one-on-one with a faculty mentor, and develop a curriculum based on your own interests.
