Jewish Studies
Jewish studies courses explore all dimensions of Jewish life – past and present. Jewish studies majors look closely at post-Holocaust life and thought, Judaism and global politics, anti-Semitism, and other forms of racism. Students may focus on Jewish history throughout the world, the intercultural facets of diverse Jewish populations, interfaith dimensions, and Judaism and sexuality. They may look at how Jewish culture intersects with the media and the arts, including film, literature, television, theater, and the internet.

The Bachelor of Science is appropriate for students planning graduate studies in biology and professional pursuits in the fields of biology, medicine or higher education. The BS has an options requirement – areas of specialized learning. Choose from Cell and Molecular Biology; Ecology and Evolution; Marine Biology; Pre-Medical, Pre-Dental and Pre-Veterinary Studies; and Secondary Education.

With a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, you’ll learn to apply principles of engineering, physics, mathematics, and materials science toward a general career in mechanical engineering or concentrate on aerospace engineering. The program is ABET-accredited.

In the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering program, students can work toward a career in electrical engineering or opt for a computer engineering focus. Computer Engineering Option
Students pursuing this option will take courses in the Department of Computer Science such as:

Video/Television

The BS in Video/Television gives you a more technical, specialized approach to television and video production. Courses include advanced television technologies, multi-camera production, a media production practicum, as well as a science and computer science requirement.

An INTO Hofstra Graduate Pathway program in Sports Science - Exercise Physiology will prepare you to enter your next semester of a master’s degree program at Hofstra University. Sports Science

The mission of the Master of Science in Sports Science is to prepare scholarly and innovative leaders in sports, physical activity and recreation. Attention is focused on research and theoretical development. Individuals are provided with the means and understandings necessary to effectively lead physical activity programs in school and non-school settings.

Italian
In a world brought ever closer by technology, trade, and transportation, fluency in a foreign language will make a tremendous difference in your earning power, how high you can climb the corporate ladder, and your ability to expand your professional and personal networks.

The study of languages will help you understand the world better, become more culturally sensitive, and train you to adjust to new environments quickly. Learning languages will improve your writing and train you to look at things from many points of view.

The BA in Dance complements the University’s liberal arts program and allows students to pursue a second major or minor in an additional area of interest. Students are provided with a rigorous program of dance training, as well as the same opportunities as the other dance degrees to audition for all faculty and student performances.

The Master of Arts (MA) in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at Hofstra University prepares you for career advancement across a number of fields dealing with workplace productivity and behaviors, including human resources, training, management, consulting, coaching, and organization development. Research design, statistics, and psychology provide the foundation for advanced study in selection training, performance appraisal, worker motivation, and organization development. At Hofstra you will also gain valuable hands-on experience through internships at business and public agencies. Full-time students finish in as little as two years.
