Entrepreneurship majors learn how to think creatively and collaboratively, and develop the skills to launch a new enterprise, including crafting a business model that incorporates financing, marketing, human resources management, and other disciplines.

Fine Arts

This degree is for students who may be interested in a double major in areas such as education, marketing, computer science, or film. Students have the option of a general fine arts degree, or a specialization in design, painting, or sculpture-industrial design.

Women’s Studies at Hofstra University offers interdisciplinary courses taught by full-time faculty in the arts, humanities, and social sciences who have expertise in women’s and gender issues. Many of these courses fulfill the University’s interdisciplinary distribution requirement. Hofstra offers a major and a minor in women’s studies, both of which are composed of women’s studies courses and courses offered by departments across the disciplines that address women's and gender issues. Students who major in women's studies can elect a double major in another academic discipline. The internship component of the major provides students with practical experience that will benefit them as they seek job placement upon graduation.

A LACS major or minor would be an asset to any student planning a career in business, law, communications, travel, government, nongovernment agencies, environmental organizations, and other areas.

The BS in Video, Television, and Business combines an in-depth overview of television production and industry standards with coursework in legal issues, contracts, marketing, and management. The BS in Mathematics is appropriate for students planning graduate studies in mathematics or professional pursuits in the field of mathematics. The BS requires the completion of one of seven tracks: mathematics, actuarial science, applied mathematics, chemistry, physics, engineering, or computer science.

Information Systems

The major concentration enables students to establish a strong base of specialized knowledge in one of the areas of study represented in the Zarb School of Business. This complements the skills in the various functional areas of business, as well as the professional leadership and management orientation.
