Latin American and Caribbean Studies
Latin American and Caribbean Studies (LACS) offers a wide array of courses on Latin America, the Caribbean, and related diasporas in the United States. This interdisciplinary program features courses from departments throughout the University, and it also offers senior seminars and opportunities for independent coursework and study abroad.

Computer Science and Cybersecurity

The new BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE AND CYBERSECURITY program is designed to produce graduates who are fully qualified as computer software and hardware developers, while at the same time, able to serve as information security officers, penetration testers, and network administrators. The program provides a solid foundation of computer science, emphasizing specifically the expertise in computing systems. Hofstra University's Department of Finance offers a Master of Science (MS) in Finance. The MS Finance program provides a strong conceptual understanding of finance and develops students' analytical abilities. Candidates come with interests in such areas as corporate finance, investments, international finance, and financial institutions. Students choose one of two concentrations: Financial and Risk Management or Investment Analysis.

Biology - Marine Biology

The Bachelor of Science is appropriate for students planning graduate studies in biology and professional pursuits in the fields of biology, medicine or higher education. The BS has an options requirement – areas of specialized learning. Choose from Cell and Molecular Biology; Ecology and Evolution; Marine Biology; Pre-Medical, Pre-Dental and Pre-Veterinary Studies; and Secondary Education.

With the Master of Arts (MA) in Journalism at Hofstra University, you will develop advanced, multimedia story-telling skills and build a wide-ranging professional network through internships at the nation’s top media companies. Hofstra's award-winning faculty will help you establish a solid foundation of reporting skills and build a portfolio of work across all media – digital, broadcast, and print - through on-campus media outlets, including The Hofstra Chronicle, WRHU Radio, and the online news site, The Long Island Advocate. Students have the option to add a specialization in either Sports and Entertainment Journalism or Community and Investigative Journalism. No GRE is required, and scholarships are available for qualified candidates.
