The Theatre Studies major provides you with a broad-based, hands-on education in theatre within the context of a liberal arts degree. After completing a strong core of theatre courses, you have the flexibility to choose specialty courses based on your interests and career orientation in the following areas:

Engineering Technology at Illinois State University is an applied program that allows students to explore the integration of engineering principles and modern technology. The courses in Engineering Technology focus on the management of people, processes, and materials through hands-on, application-oriented activities. As a result, our students are well equipped to become technically-oriented managerial professionals and leaders in business and industry.f

Fashion Design and Merchandising
The Fashion Design and Merchandising (FDM) program at Illinois State University puts your designs on the runway, connects you with professionals nationwide, teaches courses in all areas of design and merchandising through industry-level Design Studio and Textile Lab facilities, and inspires you with the 2,000 piece Lois Jett Historic Costume Collection.

FDM courses include Textiles, Fashion Trend and Industry Analysis, Advanced Textiles, Clothing and Behavior, Economics of Fashion, Apparel Product Development, Apparel Product Analysis, and Fashion Promotion. Within the FDM program, you can select from two different emphasis options:

• The Fashion Merchandising option which includes additional courses in retail buying
• The Fashion Design and Product Development option which includes additional courses in draping and flat pattern making

The Technology Education program prepares graduates to advance as technology education teachers in the public secondary schools.

The Technology Education sequence is not a teacher certification program. Certified teachers pursue the degree for professional development. Non-certified students also may pursue the master's in conjunction with other courses required for teacher certification.

Studio Arts Video
The Wonsook Kim School of Art offers a comprehensive list of sequence options for a student interested in Studio Arts. The following are offered as areas of specialization: Ceramics, Drawing, Expanded Media, Glass, Printmaking, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Video, and Wood / Metal Design.

Following a first year foundations curriculum, students can choose a sequence within an individual studio. Within each sequence, faculty are actively engaged in introducing students to various technical skills and ideas specific to that discipline. The cohesive sequencing of courses within each studio area allows the student to build skills and knowledge towards a highly sophisticated level of work in that field of exploration.

Biology Teacher Education
The School of Biological Sciences at Illinois State University has a longstanding tradition in training biology teachers. Students complete a rigorous program that includes professional education courses as well as laboratory-intensive biology coursework. Students will become licensed to teach all high school science courses (biology, physics, chemistry, and earth science), including AP and honors biology.

Information Systems - Internet Application Development
Internet Application Development is a master's sequence in Information Systems and is ideal for students seeking advanced knowledge in web development. The program provides specialized education in emerging technologies, including mobile application development.

Based on your professional goals, you can choose to do a thesis, project, or take extra courses to complete the program.

Quantitative Economics is an interdisciplinary program between the Economics and the Mathematics departments. The sequence is designed for students who intend to pursue a double Master’s in Applied Economics and Mathematics/Statistics, for students interested in the quantitative aspects of Economics, and/or for students interested in enhancing their mathematics skills to pursue a Ph.D. in Economics in the future.

In addition to 22 hours of core courses in economic theory, you will take 12 or more hours of graduate-level math courses.

This is a STEM designated degree, which focuses on the systematic study of mathematical and statistical analysis of economic phenomena and problems. STEM designated degree programs offer additional benefits for students, including potential grant funded opportunities and, for international students, extended OPT study options.

The Department of Family and Consumer Sciences offers a Master of Science or Master of Arts degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with a sequence in Interior Design. The master’s program expands knowledge on creativity, sustainability, health and wellness, and evidence-based design.

Students can tailor this sequence to focus on theory and research and further develop their design skills in commercial design, cultural/global design, healthcare facilities design, and universal design. The sequence is suitable for both designers and architects who want to teach or become research practitioners, as well as those who want to advance their undergraduate degree as a practitioner in the field.
