Students in this major use theory in the classroom and the real world by completing two internships. The major also offers opportunities to attend conferences, participate in clubs, and study abroad. These activities help students develop a professional network.

Faculty in therapeutic recreation have awards for teaching, research, and service. They also conduct and publish research as well as write industry-leading textbooks.

Class sizes are designed to be small to encourage interaction between the professor and each student.

Agriculture - Animal Industry Management

Students in the Animal Industry Management sequence generally seek a curriculum balanced between animal science and agricultural business. This program is suggested for students seeking careers in animal production, animal product sales, and agribusinesses with an animal emphasis.

The Business Education major at Illinois State University combines the solid foundation of a business degree with preparation needed to become a business and compter education teacher.  The program is the only K-12 Business Education program in the state, and the only dedicated business education program at a public institution.  There is a shortage of business teachers in the state.

The Business Education graduate is prepared to teach all business and information technology courses, including business, accounting, business law, information processing/keyboarding, computer applications, consumer economics, marketing, entrepreneurship, business communications, web design, digital media, and many more.
