This graduate sequence provides students with a broad-based education in Conservation Biology by combining education in basic research and classes in ecology, evolutionary genetics, and systematics.

The required classes are targeted to address applied problems such as preservation of biodiversity and genetic diversity, prairie restoration, and the effects of anthropogenic environmental change. Students' research projects range from applied science, such as management of natural areas, to basic research, such as evolutionary consequences of habitat fragmentation and of environmental toxins.

Mass Media - Media Management, Promotion, and Sales
The mass media program at ISU consists of two tracks:

• Management, Promotion, & Sales
• Media Arts

As a mass media major, you will learn about the history of the media industries while practicing the business and creation of media in their coursework and hands-on experiences at our student media outlets:

• WZND Radio
• TV 10
• The Vidette
• Student Television Workshop

The Theatre Studies major provides you with a broad-based, hands-on education in theatre within the context of a liberal arts degree. After completing a strong core of theatre courses, you have the flexibility to choose specialty courses based on your interests and career orientation in the following areas:

• Stage directing
• Playwriting
• Theatre history
• Creative drama and puppetry
• Integrated performance
• Theatre management
• Film studies

You’ll receive a well-rounded educational experience, from academic pursuit in history, criticism, dramaturgy, and theory, to creative participation in the performing arts.

The School of Biological Sciences has both a Ph.D. program and a master's degree program in which students can perform thesis research on bioenergy-related projects.

For students interested in taking the master's degree track, the School of Biological Sciences offers an M.S. sequence in Bioenergy Sciences, which provides students with the background to conduct thesis research focusing on questions related to biological and/or environmental aspects of using/engineering plants and microbes for the production of bio-based fuels. Ultimately, students will be prepared for pursuing higher degrees or entering professions related to bioenergy.

M.S. in Biological Sciences with sequences in: Behavior, Ecology, Evolution, and Systematics; Bioenergy Sciences; Biomathematics; Biotechnology; Conservation Biology; Neuroscience and Physiology; and a Ph.D. degree in Biological Sciences with sequences in: Behavior, Ecology, Evolution, and Systematics; Molecular and Cellular Biology; and Neurosciences.

Studio Arts Wood/Metals
The Wonsook Kim School of Art offers a comprehensive list of sequence options for a student interested in Studio Arts. The following are offered as areas of specialization: Ceramics, Drawing, Expanded Media, Glass, Printmaking, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Video, and Wood / Metal Design.

Following a first year foundations curriculum, students can choose a sequence within an individual studio. Within each sequence, faculty are actively engaged in introducing students to various technical skills and ideas specific to that discipline. The cohesive sequencing of courses within each studio area allows the student to build skills and knowledge towards a highly sophisticated level of work in that field of exploration.

The graduate sequence in Art Education emphasizes both theory and practice in visual arts, museum, and community arts education. Theoretical ideas are explored through both historical and contemporary models, including culturally responsive, anti-racist, and social-emotional approaches, with an emphasis on practical education and application. You will have the chance to elaborate concepts in tranditional and digital media while interacting and collaborating with stakeholders in a range of settings. Students with a bachelor's or master's degree can pursue an M.S. degree in Art Education while working toward licensure.

Fashion Design and Merchandising
The Fashion Design and Merchandising (FDM) program at Illinois State University puts your designs on the runway, connects you with professionals nationwide, teaches courses in all areas of design and merchandising through industry-level Design Studio and Textile Lab facilities, and inspires you with the 2,000 piece Lois Jett Historic Costume Collection.

FDM courses include Textiles, Fashion Trend and Industry Analysis, Advanced Textiles, Clothing and Behavior, Economics of Fashion, Apparel Product Development, Apparel Product Analysis, and Fashion Promotion. Within the FDM program, you can select from two different emphasis options:

• The Fashion Merchandising option which includes additional courses in retail buying
• The Fashion Design and Product Development option which includes additional courses in draping and flat pattern making
