This program helps students make the jump from sports fan to sport management. It includes innovative curriculum, small class sizes, and numerous opportunities to network and gain practical experience.

Our students work hard in the field and in the classroom. Through field trips, speakers, and class activities, students have numerous opportunities to connect with high-level sport executives and get practical experience with assistantships, internships, and volunteer opportunities.

Accountancy
The primary objective of the Master of Science in Accountancy program is to provide candidates preparing for professional careers in accounting a greater breadth and depth in accounting education than is possible in a baccalaureate or Master of Business Administration program.

The degree builds upon the broad framework of the undergraduate degree in accounting. Graduate accounting courses emphasize study of current accounting literature, critical thinking, case studies, accounting theory, and written and oral communication. Class sizes are designed to be small to encourage interaction between the professor and each student.

The Human Resource Management sequence emphasizes effective, leading-edge human resources management in all organizational settings.The purpose of the sequence is to provide students with skills and knowledge in human resource management consistent with the current needs of organizations. Students electing this sequence will acquire specific, in-depth skills necessary to assist organizations in the effective utilization of employee skills and talents.

Information Systems - Integration of Enterprise Systems
Integration of Enterprise Systems is a sequence in the Information Systems major.

Information Systems (IS) is at the heart of any organization. Companies rely on information to make good decisions, create new products and services, and understand their target audience. IS professionals integrate hardware and software to help organizations manage their information.

The Information Systems program at Illinois State is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET.

This sequence focuses on the use of large-scale computers known as mainframes. Mainframes have powerful processing capabilities. When you make purchases online or in-person using a credit card, there is typically a mainframe in the background processing thousands of transactions per second.

The Information Systems (IS) Major is designed to prepare professionals for the Information Systems field, including systems analysis and design and software engineering. This degree focuses on the use of computer technology and information management methods to solve business problems, utilizing an understanding of both the organizational context of the problem and the technologies, methodologies, and tools typically utilized.

Agriculture - Agronomy Management
The Agronomy Management sequence emphasizes a broad knowledge of agricultural production, science, and agribusiness management. Graduates are employed by companies as crop consultants, for sales and marketing of equipment, and by companies specializing in agronomic products including seed, fertilizer, and pesticides. Additionally, career opportunities are available with local, state, and federal governmental agencies, including such organizations as Soil and Water Conservation Districts, Extension Service, and the Natural Resources Conservation Service.

Hydrogeology
Hydrogeology at Illinois State knows the important role hydrogeologists play in the environment. That’s why our program focuses only on the field of hydrogeology. This ensures you get all the tools you need for a successful career in the private sector, government, or academia.

You’ll conduct research that makes a real, positive impact. Our broad view of hydrogeology means you can explore your interests in the hydrologic cycle. Some recent research projects include:

• Surface water-groundwater interaction
• Nutrient cycling
• Impacts of humans and global change in hydrologic and water resource systems
• Flow in karst systems
• Sediment transport

Our core curriculum lets you claim the title of hydrogeologist when you graduate. You’ll be able to work in a variety of areas all over the world, such as the private sector, government, or higher education.

The Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity program prepares students to make a positive impact on the professional practices and policies in their field. Students study psychological characteristics and their influence on sport and physical activity participation.

The Interior Design major prepares students to design innovative, functional, supportive and responsible interior environments that positively impact the quality of life. The curriculum develops students' skills and knowledge in color and design, drafting, space planning, building and interior systems, materials and finishes, historical interiors, building and barrier-free codes, and Auto-CAD. The needs of special populations and the mandates that regulate the field of interior design are emphasized.

Illinois State's Interior Design program is accredited by the Council of Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA). This prepares students for entry-level Interior Design practice, for advanced study, and to apply for membership in professional Interior Design organizations. The BS or BA in Interior Design granted by Illinois State University meets the educational requirement for eligibility to sit for the National Council for Interior Design Qualification Examination (NCIDQ Exam).

Health and Human Performance
Exercise Science is the study of movement and the associated functional responses and adaptations the body makes as a result of movement/exercise.

The Health and Human Performance (HHP) sequence gives you a well-rounded foundation in areas of Exercise Science, including physiology, biomechanics, and sports psychology. HHP also studies how different exercises and fitness programs affect the human body.
