Associated with the sequence is the Institute for Regulatory Policy Studies. The institute provides a key link between Illinois State University and the telecommunications, electric power, and natural gas industries.

Journalism is changing rapidly in the 21st century, with stories moving across a range of platforms – from television and the web to radio, newspapers and magazines, as well as across social networks like Twitter and Facebook. This means that the budding journalist needs to know not only how to gather facts and write informative stories, but also how to work with audio and video clips, create and use web sites, and be adept at distributing news through social media.

Biology - Molecular and Cellular Biology
The bachelor’s degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology provides a solid foundation in the life sciences for students seeking careers in medicine, government, or entry-level positions in biotechnology as well as the pharmaceutical industry.

Dance
The Dance program at Illinois State University offers an intensive, individualized and performance-based approach connecting theory with practice. We provide a challenging yet nurturing environment that prepares students for careers in performance, choreography, teaching, and for future post-graduate study. The program is supported by a diverse and ambitious nationally recognized faculty, bringing a wide variety of movement styles and philosophies to the program.

Students in the Dance sequence take an extensive range of courses that emphasize different aspects of dance training and creativity within the fine and performing arts. Dancers will develop their intellectual and artistic abilities through coursework that includes choreography and improvisation, dance history, multicultural perspectives, dance kinesiology and somatic practices. Additionally, students have opportunities to study abroad, work with a variety of guest artists, and to network with Illinois State alumni working in the field.

Students will experience a variety of diverse performance opportunities alongside a strong and comprehensive curriculum. Illinois State Dance Theatre is the pre-professional dance company supported by the School of Theatre and Dance that offers students consistent performance opportunities to work with nationally recognized faculty and guest artists each school year. The program sponsors Dance Association, a registered student organization that offers weekly workshops, supports guest teachers, and produces the annual Dance Inventions Student Choreographed Concert. Students are also involved in theatrical productions within the Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts, as well as touring productions of faculty and guest artists' work on a regional and national level.

This program prepares students to make a positive impact on professional practices and policies in recreation management. It also helps them be successful leaders in recreation, parks, and tourism.

Students think conceptually and analytically while focusing on scholarship and a disciplinary study. Coursework applies theories and practices in the areas of management, marketing, and finance. At the end of the sequence, students complete a thesis, professional practice, or an independent study.

Recreation Administration offers top-notch learning facilities and small class sizes that encourage interaction and discussion. Faculty members are dedicated to supporting students and provide learning opportunities that connect students to real-world professional issues.

Art History
Students pursuing the Art History sequence benefit from a varied menu of course offerings, which reflects the broad range of expertise and interests of the Art History faculty.

The study of Art History examines specific works of sculpture, painting, architecture, and other art forms, both as expressions of human creativity and as uniquely informative historical documents. Through such investigations students gain a greater aesthetic appreciation of art and a deeper understanding of its purposes in different times and places.
