Information Systems - Geographic Information Systems
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a master’s sequence in Information Systems. The degree is a cross-disciplinary sequence between the School of Information Technology and the Institute for Geospatial Analysis and Mapping, located in the Department of Geography, Geology, and the Environment.

GIS at Illinois State gives you the essential knowledge to use current GIS applications and develop future systems. The program teaches theory and provides practical experience using GIS systems. Students perform statistical analysis and interpretation by mapping spatial coordinates onto multiple datasets. Information Systems - Integration of Enterprise Systems
Integration of Enterprise Systems is a sequence in the Information Systems major.

Information Systems (IS) is at the heart of any organization. Companies rely on information to make good decisions, create new products and services, and understand their target audience. IS professionals integrate hardware and software to help organizations manage their information.

The Information Systems program at Illinois State is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET.

This sequence focuses on the use of large-scale computers known as mainframes. Mainframes have powerful processing capabilities. When you make purchases online or in-person using a credit card, there is typically a mainframe in the background processing thousands of transactions per second.

The Information Systems (IS) Major is designed to prepare professionals for the Information Systems field, including systems analysis and design and software engineering. This degree focuses on the use of computer technology and information management methods to solve business problems, utilizing an understanding of both the organizational context of the problem and the technologies, methodologies, and tools typically utilized.

The course framework for the Biochemistry program provides a solid foundation necessary for advanced study in medicine, veterinary medicine, pharmacy, chemistry and biology, as well as forming the basis for entry-level positions in the pharmaceutical and biotechnical industries. While the degree requirements may satisfy many professional or graduate programs, it is important to consult the admission requirements as early as possible for the particular programs at schools to which the individual is likely to apply. Professionals also analyze trends in healthcare. They observe how patients use healthcare, what diseases are on the rise, and which illnesses are decreasing. This information helps them make decisions and predictions about health needs in the human population.

The health information field is engaging. Daily work offers plenty of variety in business, technology, and science. From large hospitals to small offices, you'll have your pick of where you want to spend your career.

Economics - Financial Economic
The Financial Economics sequence provides students training in the financial theory of the firm, financial markets and institutions to complement their training in applied economics analysis. It is designed for students who have an interest in employment opportunities in the financial sector such as investment and commercial banks, economic and financial asset management companies, and consulting firms, or who are interested in pursuing a Ph.D. degree.

Before enrolling in the sequence, students must consult the Graduate Program Director of the Department of Economics and the MBA Program Office to obtain approval for registering for Finance, Insurance, and Law (FIL) courses. In order to enroll in FIL courses, students must have satisfied the following requirements: (1) complete ECO 437 with a grade of B or better; and (2) have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

This is a STEM designated degree, which focuses on the systematic study of mathematical and statistical analysis of economic phenomena and problems. STEM designated degree programs offer additional benefits for students, including potential grant funded opportunities and, for international students, extended OPT study options.
