The Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management sequence offers a unique learning experience to students who aspire to start businesses or obtain employment in growth-oriented small businesses. The program will help students identify career options in small business, expand their knowledge of entrepreneurship, and develop venture management skills and techniques.

Information Systems - Network and Security Management
Network and Security Management is a master's sequence in Information Systems. The program is ideal for students wanting to focus on designing and securing networks and the information they carry. The sequence takes a detailed look into the issues involved in managing information security in organizations. It also covers modern technologies for the management and automation of networks.

The Agribusiness sequence includes courses in agriculture, agribusiness, economics and business. Graduates find career opportunities in sales, finance, grain and livestock marketing, farm management, food industry management and the commodity futures industry. Students graduating in this sequence with the combination of business, science and applied agriculture courses are sought after and valuable employees in the agricultural industry.

Studio Arts Glass
The Wonsook Kim School of Art offers a comprehensive list of sequence options for a student interested in Studio Arts. The following are offered as areas of specialization: Ceramics, Drawing, Expanded Media, Glass, Printmaking, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Video, and Wood / Metal Design.

Following a first year foundations curriculum, students can choose a sequence within an individual studio. Within each sequence, faculty are actively engaged in introducing students to various technical skills and ideas specific to that discipline. The cohesive sequencing of courses within each studio area allows the student to build skills and knowledge towards a highly sophisticated level of work in that field of exploration.

Criminal Justice Sciences

• Earning a criminal justice degree empowers you to make positive contributions to society.
• The field offers plenty of variety that leads to an exciting and engaging career. Professionals enforce laws, protect citizens, rehabilitate offenders, help victims, and develop programs to help prevent crime.
• The criminal justice program at Illinois State examines policing, courts, and corrections. We do this with a social science point of view. As a student, you'll explore human behavior and take an in-depth look at the issues and circumstances that lead to crime. This gives you a well-rounded perspective and prepares you to be a leader for positive change.    
• You'll also gain all the skills you need to be successful in your career. We'll teach you how to interview, develop programs, promote community well-being, and analyze crime hotspots.

Marketing - Integrated Marketing CommunicationThe Integrated Marketing Communication sequence allows students to focus on the coordination of all aspects of marketing communication such as advertising, sales promotion, public relations, and direct marketing, in an effort to provide a consistent message to consumers. Students complete three required courses in marketing and two required and three elective courses in integrated marketing communication.

Not only are a significant number of marketing students interested in the IMC fields, the area offers a wide range of professional opportunities, with strong growth projections. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) predicts 12 percent job growth for marketing managers from 2012 to 2022. The median salary for marketing managers was $127,130 in 2014, according to the BLS.

Political Science
Students in Political Science at Illinois State University have some of the greatest opportunities for learning and growth, both as individuals and within the field as a whole. The Department of Politics and Government provides a variety of resources for its majors, an assortment of different student organizations, small class sizes, and full-time faculty teaching all levels of coursework.

The overall goal of the Art Teacher Education sequence in the Wonsook Kim School of Art is to prepare the next generation of art educators who promote a high level of competence and integrity in the practice of their profession. The Art Teacher Education sequence prepares students to teach art in the elementary, middle, and secondary schools.

Participants are involved in both academic and practical experiences throughout the sequence of coursework. These experiences are selected to prepare future art teachers to relate to the diverse needs and interests of children and adolescents. Contemporary philosophic issues such as visual culture, post-structuralism, and postmodernism are addressed. Also stressed are creative and critical thinking, studio techniques, technology, understanding the learner, and developing skills to become an effective teacher.

The Human Development and Family Science (HDFS) major prepares students to provide educational, preventive and intervention services to individuals and families which enhance personal, family and community well-being. Students develop the skills needed to assist people of all ages achieve individual and family well-being.
