Chemistry
An undergraduate degree in Chemistry opens a gateway to many professions or further studies in graduate school or professional schools, like medical school.  A Chemistry degree provides a solid foundation for many professions including teaching, forensics, biotechnology, medicine, materials science and nanotechnology, chemical processing, electronics, agricultural and food science, oceanography, and environmental science.  At OSU, we provide a very flexible curriculum that can be tuned to your interests.  Check out the options we have for you!

Political Science

The OSU political science program investigates the stories behind the news headlines and teaches you skills to make up your own mind about the politics of laws that affect everyday issues. You will learn to think critically, write clearly and speak persuasively on diverse issues such as: assisted suicide, international terrorism, campaign finance, government involvement in health care and censorship.

This graduate program combines a strong social science faculty with a strong biological and ecological science faculty and so provides an unusual opportunity to focus on the interface of social science and ecology. The FES graduate program provides specific disciplinary opportunities in both ecological and social sciences in the natural resource setting but also strives to develop interdisciplinary skills and knowledge. Our program objective is to develop interdisciplinary thinkers, highly capable scientists, and natural resource leaders who are prepared to solve complex socio-ecological problems. The students will be able to identify and contribute to collaborative solutions in ecology and natural resources-related social science.

Students majoring in Botany study the fundamental biology of plants and fungi from molecular and cellular to the global ecosystem level. The curriculum includes core classes in plant structure, systematics, ecology, and physiology, along with courses in biochemistry, cell biology, and genetics. Students also learn how to apply their knowledge to current issues and problems of in food production, conservation, and healthy ecosystems.

Computer Science
The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Oregon State University provides a comprehensive, state-of-the-art education that prepares our students to be successful in engineering practice, advanced studies and research.

The computer science master's program provides advanced instruction beyond the undergraduate degree. It prepares students for careers in which a higher level of experience is required. The Ph.D. program prepares students for work in government or industry research laboratories or industry research laboratories or for careers at universities.

Additional areas of concentration may be arranged with other departments, for example, numerical analysis or computer algebra with the Department of Mathematics.

Crop Science and Soil Science

Graduates of our program, in demand across the United States, typically have several job offers by the time that they graduate.

The arts, media and technology degree prepares you for a career as a creative professional. The program's multidisciplinary curriculum integrates critical, theoretical and historical knowledge of the arts and media with the technical skills required for a career in the visual arts and design fields.

Human Development and Family Sciences
Learn to empower individuals, families and communities to survive and thrive. Explore how individuals develop and become resilient over time — particularly within the contexts of family, school, work and society. Consider how difficult environments, such as living in poverty, can make lives and relationships more challenging. Few careers offer as many opportunities to directly and profoundly impact lives. With an HDFS degree, you’ll be ready for rewarding professional work or graduate study in fields such as education, HDFS, social work or public administration.
