As an agribusiness professional, you will spend your days solving pressing problems at the intersection of business, agriculture and natural resources. The Biochemistry and Biophysics graduate program in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics grants primarily PhD degrees, but also offers thesis and nonthesis master's degrees. We offer a broad range of research topics through the faculty within the department, those associated with the Linus Pauling Institute, and affiliate faculty from other departments throughout Oregon State University.

Research interests of the faculty in the graduate program include cancer biology, aging, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's Disease), heart and spinal cord development and disease, mouse transgenics, atherosclerosis, protein and nucleic acid structure and function, DNA modification and epigenetics, cell signaling, oxidative stress, micronutrients, bioinformatics, and biosensors.

Religious Studies
Religious Studies at OSU is an inter-disciplinary field that combines history, philosophy, anthropology, ethics, textual analysis, art, literature and film to examine the ways that humans have described and acted in response to that which they have called divine, both in civilizations long past and among peoples and nations around the world in the present moment. A major in Religious Studies will expose you to some of the most profound and beautiful creations of the human imagination, give you expertise in critical reasoning and close engagement with texts and ideas, give you skills to navigate the cultural complexity of our diverse society, and prepare you to be a participatory citizen of our interconnected global environment.

Biology
The Biology Major delivers interdisciplinary training relevant to a wide variety of life sciences careers. Students can choose to specialize in one of eight transcript-visible options or select from a wealth of coursework to meet specific interests. Biology is a common home for pre-veterinary medicine, as well as pre-medicine and other health professions

Our construction engineering management (CEM) undergraduate program prepares students with the tools they need to become construction engineers and managers in all areas of the construction industry. The program emphasizes practical applications as well as basic principles. Students are given many hands-on experiences in the laboratory and are involved in numerous field trips to supplement classroom activities. CEM graduates find employment in all phases of construction: commercial and industrial building, heavy/highway, structures, utilities, and civil projects. They are employed by general constructors, subcontractors, suppliers, developers, homebuilders, consultants, and governmental agencies. They work as project engineers, project managers, field and office engineers, estimators, as well as in other positions.

Civil Engineering
Civil engineering is the design, construction, and maintenance of public works, including roads, bridges, harbors, etc. At Oregon State University our programs in civil engineering prepare students to become working professional civil engineering and academic researchers who study civil engineering problems. Our civil engineering undergraduate program offers a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) degree where students receive general instruction in all disciplines, with the option for additional elective courses in desired areas.

Our Master's International Direct pairs a Direct Entry I-20 with customized support during the first term of students' graduate studies in MS Business. Students will benefit from increased support throughout the predeparture and academic journey as they study alongside domestic students.

Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies
The Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies major represents multidisciplinary approaches to the study of gender and sexuality, particularly as they intersect with race, ethnicity, class, culture, nation, and ability. The curriculum incorporates feminist social justice theory and research to better understand differences in power and privilege and to contribute to practices that help transform our world. Many classes incorporate a social activism component, and students are encouraged to consider the ways knowledge and activist engagements help promote social justice in local and global communities.
