Religious Studies
Religious Studies at OSU is an inter-disciplinary field that combines history, philosophy, anthropology, ethics, textual analysis, art, literature and film to examine the ways that humans have described and acted in response to that which they have called divine, both in civilizations long past and among peoples and nations around the world in the present moment. A major in Religious Studies will expose you to some of the most profound and beautiful creations of the human imagination, give you expertise in critical reasoning and close engagement with texts and ideas, give you skills to navigate the cultural complexity of our diverse society, and prepare you to be a participatory citizen of our interconnected global environment.

Mathematics
Undergraduate mathematics is essential preparation for graduate study in the mathematical sciences, including mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, and computer science.  In addition, many employers and other academic disciplines recognize that a BS in mathematics is evidence of high-level training in problem solving.

Finance
The goal of the finance program at OSU is to prepare students for careers in institutional finance, which includes careers in banking, brokerage, insurance and other fields. Within the lending area, finance majors can specialize in installment credit lending to consumers of durable goods, mortgage lending to home builders and buyers, or commercial lending to help finance the growth of businesses. Men and women entering the securities industry find careers as stock and bond brokers, security analysts or portfolio managers. Individuals choosing the area of insurance typically enter company operations through either claims or underwriting positions.

German
Gain a career advantage in today's economy by adding this language and the knowledge of the German culture to your résumé. German continues to be one of the leading languages of science, arts, philosophy and history. German is spoken by more than 200 million speakers worldwide, half of which speak it as their first language. After English, German is the second most used language on the internet. It is the official language of six European countries: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg and Belgium. In addition, a bachelor's degree in German is a great stepping stone to graduate or law school.

This graduate program combines a strong social science faculty with a strong biological and ecological science faculty and so provides an unusual opportunity to focus on the interface of social science and ecology. The FES graduate program provides specific disciplinary opportunities in both ecological and social sciences in the natural resource setting but also strives to develop interdisciplinary skills and knowledge. Our program objective is to develop interdisciplinary thinkers, highly capable scientists, and natural resource leaders who are prepared to solve complex socio-ecological problems. The students will be able to identify and contribute to collaborative solutions in ecology and natural resources-related social science.

Graphic Design
In today's visual, digital world, graphic design is a growing and expanding profession filled with possibilities. There is a great need for people who can make wise decisions about the moral and ethical issues facing the workplace, the community, and the larger world. You can be one of those people.

OSU’s master's in Applied Ethics program is designed to develop your moral reasoning and critical thinking skills in the service of an engaged life. Through coursework, a real-world practicum, and a thesis, you’ll learn how to identify, analyze, and resolve ethical issues, mentored by faculty who are actively involved in ethics research across a wide array of disciplines.

Mechanical Engineering
The Mechanical Engineering (ME) profession is dedicated to applying principles of physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics in the analysis, design, manufacturing and maintenance of mechanical components, devices, and systems.  Oregon State's graduate program in ME is designed to educate leaders who will develop and improve systems for transforming energy, health, materials, and information to meet the needs of society.

To be eligible for graduate studies, a baccalaureate or master’s degree in science, mathematics, or engineering is required.
