Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.

Graduate Pathway in Masters of Business Administration (2-Term Pathway) Leading to Master of Business Administration
An INTO OSU Graduate Pathway program in Business Administration will prepare you to enter your next term of a master’s degree program at Oregon State University. Upon successful completion of the Pathway program and meeting university requirements for graduate admission, you may enter your next term of graduate study at Oregon State University. This transition from an INTO OSU program to a university degree program is called progression.
Business Administration
The Oregon State MBA offers a variety of degree programs and certificates to meet the needs of our students, and we offer programs as part-time and full-time in Corvallis, as well as programs in Portland.
Our students have a variety of academic backgrounds; students who do not have an undergraduate degree in business or a business minor will complete coursework that provides a solid foundation of business knowledge. Oregon State MBA programs are 60 credit-hours in length (45 credit-hours for students who qualify for the accelerated program) and include both core and track-specific coursework. Students who have earned an undergraduate business degree or business minor from an accredited institution within the past 10 years may be eligible to participate in our 45 credit-hour accelerated program.

Master of Engineering in Bioengineering
Bioengineering is an interdisciplinary field that applies engineering principles and quantitative methods to the advancement of knowledge at the molecular, cellular, tissue, organ, and system levels, and to the development of new biologicals, materials, devices, and processes.
Oregon State University and the University of Oregon have partnered to offer joint Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Bioengineering, giving students the opportunity to work with faculty advisors at either campus. These new joint degree programs are expected to begin enrolling students starting in the fall of 2021. Oregon State University also offers a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Bioengineering.

Ethnic Studies
Ethnic Studies majors and minors take comparative core courses on "race" and ethnicity and select one major area of concentration from the following: African American Studies, Asian Pacific American Studies, Chicana/o Latina/o Studies, Native American Studies. In addition, majors must complete a nine-credit graded internship working with an entity that provides service to one or more of the ethnic communities named above. The minor internship, which is optional, consists of three credits.

OSU-Cascades offers the only hospitality management degree program of its kind in Oregon. The multi-disciplinary degree program prepares you for a wide range of hospitality careers within a corporate setting, in a hospitality operations setting, or as an entrepreneur. The hospitality industry requires college graduates who can go directly into management and can hit-the-ground-running on their first day of work. The hospitality management program at OSU-Cascades provides students with the skills and knowledge to become leaders and innovators in the hospitality industry.

Master of Science in Statistics
The department offers graduate work leading to an M.S. degree in Statistics. Students can concentrate on theory or applications, and programs can be tailored to emphasize such areas of interest as ecology, engineering, forestry, genetics/genomics and computational biology, mathematics, or oceanography. All students obtain experience as statistical consultants for problems in a variety of areas, including agriculture, biology, forestry, exercise physiology, and engineering. Students interested in environmental sciences have the opportunity to obtain experience both in and outside the classroom with statistical methods for environmental data.

Bioengineering
The Bioengineering undergraduate program (initiated in 1996 as biological engineering) provides a solid background in biology (anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology), chemistry, physics and math, in addition to the engineering sciences. Upper-level course work in bioengineering includes analysis and design of processes involving suspension and immobilized microbial cultures and the recovery of therapeutic products from bioreactors, as well as selection courses in mammalian cell culture and tissue engineering, biomedical materials engineering and cellular engineering. All students complete coursework in drug and medical device regulation as well as a capstone-design experience. Bioengineering graduates are prepared to contribute to the rapidly growing bioscience-based industries, and are able to formulate and solve problems relevant to the design of devices and systems to improve human health.

Are you a creative-thinker who can help an organization be a leader in design and innovation? Are you interested in working with multi-disciplinary teams on tackling creative challenges? Our design and innovation management major will help you build the skills you need for a management role in design-related fields across many areas of industry, including large and small companies.
Our design and innovation management degree focuses on the intersection of design and business, bringing together analytic and creative problem-solving skills. You'll focus on how design can be integrated into an organization from a management and strategic perspective and learn the value that design and innovation can bring to an organization.
You'll learn to integrate and focus on the role of design in the creation and management of strategic, sustainable business advantages and customer solutions.
