Civil Engineering
Civil engineering is the design, construction, and maintenance of public works, including roads, bridges, harbors, etc. At Oregon State University our programs in civil engineering prepare students to become working professional civil engineering and academic researchers who study civil engineering problems. Our civil engineering undergraduate program offers a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) degree where students receive general instruction in all disciplines, with the option for additional elective courses in desired areas.

Our undergraduate Microbiology program enrolls about 200 students and is the only Bachelors of Science degree in MB in Oregon.  Microbiology majors study beneficial and disease-causing bacteria, archaea, viruses and parasites in the context of human, plant and animal disease and the environment. We offer two options for majors that wish to specialize. A Pre-Medicine Option helps students interested in a career in the medical field to prepare for professional school. The Aquatic Microbiology Option provides students interested in environmental sciences with a background in the microbial processes of aquatic systems and prepares them for careers in environmental resource fields in industry, government and academia.

The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Oregon State University provides a comprehensive, state-of-the-art education that prepares our students to be successful in engineering practice, advanced studies and research.

The master's degree provides advanced instruction beyond the undergraduate degree. It prepares students for careers in which a higher level of experience is required. The Master of Engineering is a course work-only degree with no required thesis or project report.

The PhD degree prepares students for work in government or industry research laboratories or careers at universities. Students are encouraged to develop programs of study in close cooperation with the faculty members in their areas of interest.

Graduate work is supported by the school’s well-equipped laboratory facilities. Opportunities exist for graduate students to participate in many research projects sponsored by private industry and government agencies.

Our goal is to help stimulate intellectual and aesthetic inquiry, develop our students' creative and technical skills, and graduate engaged, culturally aware citizens. Students here have the opportunity to choose from several options: painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography and art history.

Applied Economics
The program is designed and staffed by OSU’s distinguished graduate faculty of Applied Economics, drawn from the Departments of Applied Economics; Forest Ecosystems and Society; Forest Engineering, Resources, and Management; the School of Social and Behavioral Health Sciences; and the Economics Program in the School of Public Policy.

Tourism, Recreation & Adventure Leadership
The tourism and outdoor recreation industries are among the largest in the world and continue to grow in Oregon and throughout the nation. As a TRAL graduate, you will be a leader, educator and entrepreneur in our most important natural spaces. You will be on the cutting edge of this exciting, ever-changing industry and go on to educate others about the natural world, lead life-changing adventure opportunities, create brand new businesses based on the idea of sharing the outdoors with others and more.

Environmental Economics and Policy
With a degree in Environmental Economics and Policy you will be an expert at identifying the role that humans play in environmental quality, as well as in developing the solutions. Our approach is to combine data with rigorous theory.  With this degree, you will have a set of skills in theory, quantitative methods, and communication that are highly sought by employers in government, non-profits, and private industry.  Or, an Environmental Economics and Policy degree provides an excellent foundation on which to apply graduate school.  In short, this degree (offered both on campus and online) is a springboard to a variety of rewarding careers!

Students can earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering. The undergraduate curriculum is founded on a sound background in basic sciences (chemistry, physics, biology) and mathematics (calculus, differential equations), and strengthened with engineering science fundamentals (engineering mechanics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer). Upper division coursework in environmental engineering includes analysis and design of water and wastewater treatment systems, hazardous substance management and regulations, air pollution control technologies, and fate and transport of chemicals in the environment. All students participate in a capstone-design experience meant to foster interaction and communication between different engineering disciplines while applying environmental engineering principles to a real-world problem.

In the School of Writing, Literature, and Film we pride ourselves on providing vibrant and forward-looking learning environments for the study of textual disciplines and complex literacies.

We offer full funding to all of our graduate students through graduate teaching assistantships, grants, and fellowships. Graduate students also have opportunities for internships in a wide variety of interdisciplinary programs and centers, including the Writing Intensive Curriculum, the Center for the Humanities, and the OSU Libraries and Press.

Biological Data SciencesA degree in BDS provides a wealth of career and graduate school opportunities. Advances, such as next generation sequencing, drones, satellite imagery, and crowd sourcing, have transformed the life sciences by enabling data collection to occur at speeds and scales previously unimaginable. This paradigm shift in how researchers answer biological questions has resulted in an ever-increasing need for scientists with appropriate expertise in both biological and quantitative thinking.
