Marine Studies
Are you interested in pursuing studies about social, political, and cultural issues? Do you want to explore the relationships between humans and the environment while learning about the coasts and ocean?

The College of Liberal Art's Marine Studies Degree will focus on the social, political, and cultural issues of coasts and oceans in the context of a meaningful understanding of marine natural science. Students will receive a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science.

Graduate studies in Environmental Engineering at Oregon State University emphasize the understanding of fundamental scientific and engineering principles to manage and solve environmental problems in natural and engineering systems. The instructional program is designed to develop strong analytical, design, and management capabilities in the application of biological, chemical and physical processes. Students are prepared for careers in consulting and design, environmental monitoring and management, or teaching and research. Research focuses on hazardous substances, environmental microbiology, fundamentals of transport processes in the environment, environmental chemistry, and groundwater and surface water resources.

Environmental Economics and Policy
With a degree in Environmental Economics and Policy you will be an expert at identifying the role that humans play in environmental quality, as well as in developing the solutions. Our approach is to combine data with rigorous theory.  With this degree, you will have a set of skills in theory, quantitative methods, and communication that are highly sought by employers in government, non-profits, and private industry.  Or, an Environmental Economics and Policy degree provides an excellent foundation on which to apply graduate school.  In short, this degree (offered both on campus and online) is a springboard to a variety of rewarding careers!

The arts, media and technology degree prepares you for a career as a creative professional. The program's multidisciplinary curriculum integrates critical, theoretical and historical knowledge of the arts and media with the technical skills required for a career in the visual arts and design fields.

Fisheries and Wildlife Science
For students earning their first or second (post baccalaureate) Bachelor's degree the BS in Fisheries and Wildlife (FW) Sciences offers first-rate training in processes and strategies for the management and conservation of fish, wildlife, and marine species and their habitats.  Students in our degree program learn to think critically and evaluate problems using basic and applied science and fundamental ecological principles, and through consideration of social influences on conservation.

Botany
Students majoring in Botany study the fundamental biology of plants and fungi from molecular and cellular to the global ecosystem level. The curriculum includes core classes in plant structure, systematics, ecology, and physiology, along with courses in biochemistry, cell biology, and genetics. Students also learn how to apply their knowledge to current issues and problems of in food production, conservation, and healthy ecosystems.

How do the actions of our past affect the current world? Students immerse themselves in a robust program to better understand contemporary global issues by searching for patterns and relationships from our history. In addition, students will gain well-rounded intellectual development and essential career skills in critical thinking, writing, argumentation and documentation.

The multi-disciplinary degree program prepares you for a wide range of hospitality careers within a corporate setting, in a hospitality operations setting, or as an entrepreneur. The hospitality industry requires college graduates who can go directly into management and can hit-the-ground-running on their first day of work. Environmental Engineering
Students can earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering. The undergraduate curriculum is founded on a sound background in basic sciences (chemistry, physics, biology) and mathematics (calculus, differential equations), and strengthened with engineering science fundamentals (engineering mechanics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer). Upper division coursework in environmental engineering includes analysis and design of water and wastewater treatment systems, hazardous substance management and regulations, air pollution control technologies, and fate and transport of chemicals in the environment. All students participate in a capstone-design experience meant to foster interaction and communication between different engineering disciplines while applying environmental engineering principles to a real-world problem.
