Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.

Offered through Saint Louis University's School for Professional Studies, our Master of Science in Cybersecurity curriculum will teach you to apply information security principles to analyze, detect and mitigate vulnerabilities and intrusions to your organization’s cyberinfrastructure. You will also gain a deeper appreciation and understanding of the social, policy, ethical and legal aspects of security and privacy.
Graduates with an M.S. in cybersecurity are prepared to manage and lead cyber teams and programs in roles ranging from government cybersecurity analyst to data security consultant. A unique aspect of SLU's cybersecurity program is the ability to earn a graduate certificate that complements a master’s degree, often without taking additional credits. This allows you to tailor the program to your specific interests.
As part of the School for Professional Studies, this 33-credit program offers technology-driven professionals like you a flexible option to meet your personal career goals. With multiple start terms, you can begin the master's program in fall, spring or summer. All courses are offered in online and hybrid formats in eight-week terms, making advanced education more accessible for working professionals. Master of Science in Meteorology
Students who graduate from Saint Louis University's meteorology programs are trained to be meteorologists. They study the dynamics of air motion; physical processes such as transfer of radiation; and convection resulting in severe storms, flash floods and hurricanes. Research is underway at SLU on heavy precipitation, regional climate and air quality using numerical weather prediction models. Faculty members collaborate with research meteorologists at national centers, as well as operational meteorologists at the St. Louis National Weather Service forecast offices.

Writing is central to all aspects of Saint Louis University's program in English. In all English courses, students hone their ability to write and to reflect upon what they read.

Saint Louis University's Master of Arts (M.A.) degree program in French offers a diverse curriculum in French language, cultures and literatures, including Francophone studies, film and gender studies.
The master's French program is designed to suit the needs of those planning or already engaged in professional careers such as teaching or international affairs. At the same time, SLU's French M.A. program provides excellent preparation for studies in French beyond the master’s degree.
Opportunities for student development include participation in the annual SLU Graduate Student Symposium and the annual departmental Undergraduate and Graduate Symposium.
