Overview
Saint Louis University's undergraduate degree in health sciences is a path for students interested in entering clinically related health fields or for students interested in health informatics and health data management fields. It also provides a solid scientific and health-oriented curriculum for professional or graduate education. The goal of many students in the health sciences program is to become prepared for professional and research careers in the rapidly changing world of health, with special emphasis on the holistic context in which health care is delivered. Students in the health information management concentration are specifically prepared for diverse career opportunities in health information fields and to take the Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) nationally recognized credentialing exam offered by the American Health Information Management Association.

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):

Dietetics — the application of food and nutrition knowledge to promote health, prevent disease and minimize disability — is a rapidly growing profession in allied health. Dietitians are dedicated to helping the public attain better health and longevity through the use of sound nutrition practices. Saint Louis University's nutrition and dietetics program is one of the few in the nation that allows you to become both a registered dietitian nutritionist and a certified chef. Graduates are prepared with foundation knowledge and skills to enter the field of nutrition.

At Saint Louis University’s Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and Technology, we have developed a unique, hands-on electrical engineering program that incorporates analysis, design and development of electrical systems.
As a student in the electrical engineering program at Parks College, you will gain a solid foundation through a combination of coursework and hands-on learning. Saint Louis University's Master of Science in Applied Financial Economics is a quantitative-based, applied program that focuses on analysis and forecasting of financial variables such as interest rates, stock returns and their effects on financial markets. It responds to the market need for individuals to enter the labor market with a set of applied technical skills.
The M.S.-AFE program consists of 30 credits that can be completed full time in as little as one calendar year. As a prerequisite, the program also requires nine credits of foundation coursework in economics, accounting and applied business statistics, part or all of which may be waived for students demonstrating competency through previously completed coursework. No work experience is required, which means that students can transition into the program upon achieving their undergraduate degree.

Nuclear medicine is a medical specialty that uses safe, painless and cost-effective techniques to image the body and treat disease.
