Saint Louis University’s Master of Arts in English provides students with scholarly training in a variety of literary fields and in the study of rhetoric and composition.

Students in our program receive training in pedagogy, research, writing and theory. The M.A. is a prerequisite for our Ph.D. program, and it also prepares students for careers in fields including publishing, editing, and secondary education. SLU's English M.A. program is also offered at Saint Louis University's Madrid campus.

Offered through Saint Louis University's School for Professional Studies, the Master of Science in Analytics curriculum will teach you to design and implement analytics projects to solve complex organizational problems through statistical and analytical techniques for analyzing datasets of various sizes. Through your coursework, you'll gain skills in project management, decision making, and learn how to communicate the intricacies of complex data more effectively. 

Along the way, you’ll learn from a network of diverse peers from around the world, merging technology with human and organizational structures as you engage in knowledge discovery, management, and dissemination of industry-critical knowledge. You can also earn a graduate certificate that complements a master’s degree, often without taking additional credits, allowing you to tailor the program to your specific interests.

As part of the School for Professional Studies, this 33-credit master's program offers data-driven professionals like you a flexible option to meet your personal career goals. With multiple start terms, you can begin the master's program in fall, spring or summer. All courses are offered in online and hybrid formats in eight-week terms, making advanced education more accessible for working professionals. You will join a community of academics and practitioners from around the world and from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds, providing the opportunity to learn from a network of peers.

Data Science
The Saint Louis University Bachelor of Science in Data Science is an interdisciplinary program supported by the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. The curriculum is modeled upon guidelines for undergraduate programs in data science as endorsed by the American Statistical Association's Board of Directors. Classes are small and are taught by enthusiastic instructors.

Communication
In a world where information is plentiful and complex, technology changes rapidly and globalization connects cultures, studying communication gives students the flexibility to adapt and the skills to succeed in their academic, professional and personal lives. The Department of Communication at Saint Louis University integrates the study of human communication, media and strategic communication in innovative ways to prepare students for careers in journalism and media; advertising; public relations; and corporate, government and nonprofit settings.

Saint Louis University's studio art program provides students with experience and guidance in creating art. Students explore their individual artistic abilities while learning to understand and appreciate art in a global context. Connections across disciplines and cultural differences help students to gain a conceptual and intellectual framework for their art. Students leave with a portfolio of work and an appreciation of the development of their own values and creative skills as well as an understanding of the artistic processes, expressions and values of others.

Courses in SLU's philosophy graduate program examine historical as well as contemporary issues such as problems in metaphysics, epistemology, social and political ethics, and philosophy of religion, among others.

Criminology and criminal justice (CCJ) are fields of study that incorporate an interdisciplinary perspective to examine the causes and correlates of criminal behavior as well as the institutions that respond to such behavior. A degree in criminology and criminal justice provides a comprehensive academic foundation into the nature of criminal offending, victimization, law enforcement, court administration, the law, and both community and institutional corrections.
