You’ll follow a course of study endorsed by the American Chemical Society (ACS), which is highly respected in the field. You may also join Suffolk's award-winning ACS student chapter. What's it take to succeed in PR? Image is almost everything, but there's a lot you'll need to learn. Suffolk University's public relations major will ground you in the business—and the art—of crafting attention-getting, thought-provoking campaigns that make a difference.

You’ll begin by learning the foundations of public relations, including its history, theory, trends, and practices. You’ll take courses in professional writing, digital and social media, web design, and event planning and promotion. All of this leads to advanced courses in planning public relations campaigns for corporate or nonprofit class clients.

Advertising
The skills you need to succeed in the fast-paced, competitive world of advertising. The creativity to dream up buzz-worthy campaigns. You'll hone both as a Suffolk University advertising major.

You’ll learn advertising industry basics, including how to create ads and plan campaigns that appeal to industry brands and nonprofits' target markets. You’ll build ads from the ground-up, writing copy and designing visual elements.
