Information systems are at the center of all businesses, big and small, and the demand for information systems professionals is growing as companies use advanced technologies to manage operations around the world.

A major in information systems (IS) will prepare you for a career in systems analysis, operations management, information systems, and information technology. The Department of Philosophy offers a variety of courses in which you'll study the principles of critical thinking and argumentation that help us address these questions. Suffolk University's Politics, Philosophy & Economics (PPE) program is the first of its kind in the Boston area. The Finance major focuses on the evolving demands of the global financial environment. You'll be introduced to the latest educational technology, including Compustat, CRSP, StockTrak, Bloomberg, and Morningstar. Our trading room provides a simulated environment where you can analyze the latest stock quotes and compare currency exchange rates, just as professional traders do.

And you’ll learn from faculty who have real-world business experience at companies such as Ford Motor Company, Rho-Theta Associates, and Delta Partners LLC. Your professors offer a first-hand global perspective, having lived, worked, and studied in countries like Tunisia, China, Uganda, and Iran.
