Politics, Philosophy & Economics
Suffolk University's Politics, Philosophy & Economics (PPE) program is the first of its kind in the Boston area. An interdisciplinary major that draws from three academic departments, PPE will give you a foundation in policy, ethics, and economics. Art History
Art embodies the rich tapestry of human history and cultures across the world. Art history examines how images and monuments communicate and how they function in society: to teach and to move; to exalt and to incite.

As an art history major, you'll gain access to other cultures, other eras, and other ways of thinking. You'll also get ready for your junior year abroad and for an entire lifetime of thinking and living with global and historical perspectives.

Art history majors develop a keen eye plus excellent research, analytic, critical thinking, and communication skills—launching pads for many careers. Suffolk’s art history graduates have gone on to pursue advanced studies in art history, archive management, museum studies, and law. Others have found meaningful careers in a range of arts-related venues such as galleries and museums, auction houses, archives, and nonprofit cultural institutions.

Biology

Master of Laws - Global Law and Technology
Breakthroughs in science, technology, and communication have resulted in legal challenges never before faced--challenges of global proportions for tomorrow's leaders. Suffolk Law's LLM in Global Law and Technology will help you meet these challenges and prepare for the future practice of law.

Communication styles and methods vary greatly across cultures and around the globe. Listen closely and you'll get important social insights. In our versatile global and cultural communication major, you’ll study intercultural communication, media, rhetoric, and more.

You'll start by taking two foundation courses that focus on effective speaking, concise writing, and critical thinking. Then you’ll enter the experiential phase, where you’ll gain specific knowledge and hands-on experience in global and cultural communication.

Studying communication around the world and among various cultures will help you communicate with diverse audiences. In this major, you'll analyze cultural values, norms, and behaviors. You'll critique global media and the messages they send, analyzing global Hollywood, the images of Muslim women in transnational media, the information society, and global social movement, among other topics. And you'll study how rhetoric helps shape personal and cultural identities worldwide. You'll also explore emerging trends in global, ethical, legal, political communication, and social justice issues in the context of cultural theory.

Next, you’ll gain specific knowledge and hands-on experience in journalism.

Concentration in Print/web
If you choose the print/web journalism concentration, you’ll gain universal skills that can be applied in print and online, including reporting, feature writing, criticism, and copy editing. Our students regularly intern at The Boston Globe, Boston Herald, Boston Magazine, and Metro newspapers, among other print outlets, as well as for a wide variety of online news and sports publications.

To be a history major, you need to be curious. You’ll become an investigator into the minds, motivations, and movements that shaped our world, all while studying in one of the most historic cities on earth. At Suffolk, you’ll sharpen your analytical and critical-thinking skills to interpret the past, contextualize the present, and frame the future.

You'll customize your studies by selecting a concentration in either United States history, regional and global histories, or public history. Whichever you choose, you won't just study history: you'll engage with it.
