Studio Art
The Bachelor of Art in Studio Art is specifically designed to help you prepare for a creative career in the visual arts. This major offers an immersive studio experience integrated with academic programming that focuses on arts-related career pathways.

Today’s artists utilize cross-disciplinary skills in order to develop successful careers. In the studio art major, you will engage in a comprehensive studio experience in the center of Boston, while you pursue career opportunities in related fields. Art History

As an art history major, you'll gain access to other cultures, other eras, and other ways of thinking. You'll also get ready for your junior year abroad and for an entire lifetime of thinking and living with global and historical perspectives.

Art history majors develop a keen eye plus excellent research, analytic, critical thinking, and communication skills—launching pads for many careers. Suffolk’s art history graduates have gone on to pursue advanced studies in art history, archive management, museum studies, and law. You'll start by taking two foundation courses that focus on effective speaking, concise writing, and critical thinking and then courses in writing, online journalism, and media law. Next, you’ll gain specific knowledge and hands-on experience in journalism.

Concentration in Broadcast
In the broadcast journalism concentration, you’ll gain invaluable experience in our capstone course Suffolk U News. Internships are also vital. Suffolk students regularly work at New England Cable News, PBS, and the local affiliates of NBC, CBS, and ABC, and Fox News and ESPN.

An INTO Suffolk Graduate Pathway program in Business Administration will prepare you to enter your next semester of a master’s degree program at Suffolk University. Upon successful completion of an INTO Suffolk Pathway program and meeting university requirements for graduate admission, students may enter their second semester of graduate study at Suffolk University. This transition from an INTO Suffolk Pathway program to a university degree program is called progression.

Suffolk’s English majors explore the powerful connections between literary themes and modern issues. You’ll learn to articulate strong points of view, compose your thoughts in an organized and creative way, identify major literary themes, and draw lessons from groundbreaking works that illuminate aspects of the human condition.

Concentration in Literature
In the Literature Concertation, you can take a wide variety of classes spanning from survey courses that explore foundational texts of the British and American literary canon along with intellectually stimulating and wide-ranging upper-level electives that focus on diverse writers and engage with multifaceted literary topics and various genres. Small class sizes foster lively classroom discussions and will allow you to benefit from individual attention from professors.

Sociology is a social science that studies our behavior as social beings. It covers everything from the analysis of short contacts between anonymous individuals to the study of global social processes. Often, sociologists are driven to understand and improve the lives of others.

Concentration in Crime and Justice
Criminal justice will provide you with a rigorous study of criminal justice systems and community responses to crime. Our interactive approach to learning focuses on fostering an understanding of crime and the principles of social scientific research. Throughout your studies, you will examine how illegal behavior is defined, with special attention to how social inequalities of race, class, gender, sexuality, and age shape what is seen as crime and what is seen as justice. The intersections of criminal justice and social justice are emphasized in our curriculum.
