With its own recording studio and a host of performance ensembles, the Fred Fox School of Music is one of the highest-ranked in the nation. Students seeking their Bachelor of Music in Performance with a String Bass emphasis take 89 units of music courses. In addition to choosing electives, students satisfy core classes in music literature, music history, pedagogy, orchestration, conducting, piano and applied lessons. As part of the requirements, they audition for placement in a large conducted ensemble, where they'll have the opportunity to perform with other high-caliber student musicians.

The Bachelor of Science in Food Safety is housed within the School of Animal and Comparative Biomedical Sciences and looks at how food science, regulation and law pertain to public and ecosystem health and sustainability. Projections estimate the food sector will need to safely produce, package and distribute sustenance for 9 billion people by 2050. That challenge requires innovation and collaboration as governments and businesses look to leaders who understand the opportunities and constraints in this complex industry. This interdisciplinary program trains students to become those leaders.

Our planet is more than meets the eye. Explore Earth from its origin and history to its components and how they interact with each other. Students who select the Bachelor of Science in Geosciences with a Geology emphasis take an interdisciplinary approach to the study of the planet. In this top-ranked program, students learn scientific research skills; gain experience working with data and technology in the field and in the laboratory; and study the Earth's origin and history, as well as the planet's components and how they interact with one another. Geology students participate in a Capstone Summer Field Camp in the later part of their program that provides hands-on experience applying their content knowledge in the field. Students earning their Bachelor of Arts in World Literature gain advanced proficiency in at least one language other than English while cultivating cross-cultural literacy. An immersion in ancient and modern literature from a variety of regions broadens students' understanding of the human condition and the ideas and concepts that foster global connection. The B.A. in World Literature is a collaboration between the university's College of Humanities and College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. The major sets students up for careers in media, tourism, international business and other positions for which well-rounded, empathetic individuals are in high demand.

Work with internationally renowned Latin American scholars on critical topics facing these communities, such as gender issues, health at the border and environmental concerns. This program delves into the languages, cultures, history and politics of Latin America. The Bachelor of Arts emphasizes community engagement, foreign language acquisition and international relations. Be on the forefront of advancements in the agricultural industry - from horticultural management and crop production to animal agriculture. Agriculture has evolved from hand hoes and sickles to today's tools: drones, crop sensors and drought-resistant plants. Students who select the Agricultural Technology Management emphasis of the Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Technology Management and Education specialize in one of six areas: controlled environment agriculture, field crop production and management, information systems, horticulture management, turf grass management or animal agriculture. They will develop a strong foundation of technical expertise and field experience, learning how to use technology and modern techniques. Coursework focuses on skill development in areas such as lab and shop safety, applications in agricultural mechanics, operations in urban agricultural mechanization, and irrigation and turf maintenance.

The Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Water Resource Economics prepares students to become responsible leaders in the management of natural resources through coursework in quantitative methods, economics, politics and communication. Students not only learn how to formulate policies for responsibly managing natural resources, but they also gain skills in business management, human resources, and food and fiber production. Nationally recognized for its teaching and research, the Department of Agricultural & Resource Economics adheres to a tradition of discovery, education and service. Faculty and students vigorously engage in research in environmental and natural resource policy, regional economics and development, and agricultural production and marketing.
