Agriculture has evolved from hand hoes and sickles to today's tools: drones, crop sensors and drought-resistant plants. Students who select the Agricultural Technology Management emphasis of the Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Technology Management and Education specialize in one of six areas: controlled environment agriculture, field crop production and management, information systems, horticulture management, turf grass management or animal agriculture. They will develop a strong foundation of technical expertise and field experience, learning how to use technology and modern techniques. Coursework focuses on skill development in areas such as lab and shop safety, applications in agricultural mechanics, operations in urban agricultural mechanization, and irrigation and turf maintenance.

Students wishing to earn their Bachelor of Music in Performance with a Tuba emphasis at the University of Arizona have the benefit of studying in the nationally lauded Fred Fox School of Music. Students audition for placement in a large conducted ensemble to fulfill credit requirements. The school boasts the Tuba-Euphonium Studio, featuring a variety of ensemble options and performance opportunities. Performance majors take 89 units of music courses, studying a mix of music literature, music history, pedagogy, orchestration, conducting, brass techniques and materials, and more. Graduates go on to fulfill teaching, performing and conducting roles nationally and abroad.

The Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Technology Management and Education aims to discover solutions to the world's social, environmental, economic and resource challenges. Students who opt for the teaching emphasis prepare for a career in agricultural education in grades 9-12 and as FFA advisers, and also enjoy opportunities to educate the public in informal settings. The B.S. degree coursework runs the gamut from basic sciences - plant, soil and animal - to agricultural mechanics and the principles of the teaching-learning process. The program concludes with a 14-week student teaching internship at a cooperating center in Arizona.

Armed with an understanding of the soil-plant relationship, discover plant systems that maximize production, conserve resources and minimize environmental damage. The Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Plant Systems has four tracks; students in the Agronomy track expand their knowledge of crop production. Plants are the foundation of biodiversity, global climate and the sustainability of the planet. As such, increased crop yields, reduced use of land and improved efficiency are key to healthy ecosystems and sustained human life. This interdisciplinary degree draws on coursework from basic and applied plant and soil science and features small classes and hands-on training. Students focus on developing low water use and disease-resistant plants that maximize crop yield and plant health in fields where land size constrains production.

Take a deep dive into the human psyche of this program analyzes people's motivations, the role of power and the effects of change in historical and contemporary societies. The goal for the General Studies program with an emphasis in Social, Behavioral and Human Understanding is to provide students with a strong base for looking at the social systems of individuals and societies. This Bachelor of General Studies helps students examine multiple perspectives on social and cultural change, and teaches them to assess the strengths and weaknesses of conflicting points of view. Students not only develop an appreciation of, and sensitivity to, differences between individuals from various economic, political, religious, cultural, ethnic and social backgrounds, but they also learn to think clearly about complex problems and employ creative innovation when finding solutions.

Develop expert-level language proficiency in one of the largest and most influential global economies. In the Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies program, students select from one of two focuses in language or culture. The Chinese Language Intensive focus provides instruction on three levels, from beginning to advanced, plus specialized instruction in advanced reading, writing and conversation. Students learn to communicate effectively and read proficiently.  The department offers a summer study abroad program in Hangzhou, where students learn about China's dynamic Buddhist tea culture while staying in a monastery connected to the Hangzhou Buddhist Academy.

The Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics is an interdisciplinary program that combines a broad interest in physics with practical career skills, networking opportunities and experience that equips students for real-world problem-solving. In addition to broad study of physics, students take technical elective courses in the areas of science, engineering, math or programming, along with courses in data, statistics or monitoring and communications. Students are required to complete an Engineering Senior Design Project. Alternatively, interdisciplinary design or internship experience can be considered on a case-by-case basis. The B.S. in Applied Physics serves as a launchpad for careers in the private sector or for advanced study in applications such as engineering and medicine.
