Examine the humanistic and scientific perspectives of politics a field of study designed to help you embark on a career to help change the world. Political science is the study of government, public policy and the political behavior of individuals and groups. The Bachelor of Arts in Political Science program helps students cultivate clear and strong communication skills (writing, argumentation and presentation) as well as analytical abilities. Students examine the foundations of political science: theory, processes, principles, institutions, law, policy, international relations, foreign affairs, and ideas and methods. Students are encouraged to pursue opportunities outside of the classroom, such as internships at nonprofit organizations and government agencies, including the Arizona Legislature, the Arizona Superior Court and politicians' campaigns.

The Bachelor of Arts in English trains students to communicate clearly and effectively while honing essential critical thinking skills. Students explore the most important works of English literature, including the foundational texts and the diverse artists and works that drive the tradition today. Courses cover a range of interests, including border studies, digital cultures, rhetoric and film. Through reading, writing and literary analysis, English majors become experts of the written word. If you have a strong drive and entrepreneurial spirit, set your aspirations on the highly lauded, one-year New Venture Development Program.  Students wishing to add a second major to another course of study at the University of Arizona's Eller College of Management have the option of applying to the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Entrepreneurship. The New Venture Development Program at the McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship offers selected students a one-year immersion curriculum during their senior year. In collaboration with their peers and with entrepreneurs serving as mentors, students build a new venture from the ground up and hone their entrepreneurial and business leadership skill set in the process. Ranked in the nation's top 10 programs, the B.S.B.A. in Entrepreneurship is highly selective, and accepted students graduate with a competitive edge.

Establish the foundation you need to conduct psychological research and move on to advanced studies. Psychological science is the study of the mind and brain and how these influence human actions with an emphasis on psychological research. Coursework includes the study of development, learning, personality, memory, perception, consciousness, sexuality, love, spirituality and more. Undergraduates learn fundamental principles and concepts of psychology and crucial problem-solving skills relevant to research. Students must first complete 18 units of foundational psychology coursework within the Pre-Psychological Science requirements. They then advance from the pre-major to the full major to complete an additional 27 units of coursework and psychological research with faculty. The B.S. degree prepares undergraduates for a Ph.D. in Psychology and other advanced studies and careers that require a robust understanding of science and research methods.

Be an integral part of the most influential media of our time in film and television ?with a degree that helps shape tomorrow's cultural leaders. The Bachelor of Arts in Film and Television prepares students for creative, business, legal and academic careers in film and television. The program integrates historical and critical analysis with industry studies to cultivate informed and responsible media consumers and creators. Students gain a comprehensive understanding of the contemporary media landscape through courses in film and television, including history and aesthetic analysis; industry practices; producing; representations of race, class and gender; global movements; genres; and artists. Students have numerous opportunities to intern with media professionals locally, regionally and in major production centers such as Los Angeles and New York.

The Bachelor of Arts in Africana Studies investigates the historical and contemporary experiences of Africana peoples and how they are shaped by gender, class, race and global conditions. Students choose from one of three emphases: African American History, Culture & Aesthetics; Comparative Global African Diaspora; or Performance, Media, & Digital Africana Studies. This interdisciplinary major gives students essential professional skills applicable to many careers, including the ability to understand people from any background; writing; critical thinking; public speaking; creativity; leadership; and initiative. Classes focus on literature, history, culture, film, technology, arts, politics and more. The program is a leader in digital learning and boasts the nation's first Hip-Hop minor. Students are supported by faculty and a network of community leaders, with opportunities for internships, study abroad and more.

Environmental engineering students learn ways to minimize pollutants and waste and protect the earth's resources. Environmental engineers develop methods for clean manufacturing, wastewater treatment and water purification, alternative energy, and sustainable building. Students earning their Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering at the University of Arizona work under the umbrella of the Chemical and Environmental Engineering Department, gaining in-depth knowledge of process engineering for transforming waste into useful products and cleaning up contaminants in soil and groundwater. Arizona is one of only a handful of institutions nationwide to offer this setup. A major in Art History offers students a critical view of the role of art in culture and politics from prehistory to the modern era. Coursework offers comprehensive studies in the history of art through rigorous visual analysis, engagement with current scholarship and the application of various methodological approaches. Students gain wide knowledge of the history of art through introductory courses and then take specialty courses in areas including early modern Europe, the history of photography, Latin America, modern and contemporary, among others. The Bachelor of Arts in German Studies is designed to familiarize students with the German language and the cultures and histories of German-speaking communities. Designated a German Center of Excellence by the American Association of Teachers of German, the German Studies department provides students with a diverse education. Students acquire language proficiency in German and a broad background in German culture, history and literary studies. Students can tailor their coursework to focus on different subject areas, including German for professional purposes, German contemporary culture, current events, cultural history from the Middle Ages to the present, fairy tales, music, applied linguistics and language teaching.
