Identify and assess global trends in political, financial and social areas and become an empowered leader who communicates and inspires across cultural boundaries. Global Studies is an interdisciplinary approach to thinking critically about global issues. This Bachelor of Arts is structured around intellectual and experiential frameworks that empower students to analyze, adapt, communicate, problem-solve and empathize. The Global Political and Economy emphasis examines the mechanisms of order and disorder, and cooperation and conflict among humans. It also explores the major types of formal organizations, including nation-states, international or transnational organizations, and nongovernment organizations. Students gain knowledge of diverse global institutions and their political, economic, social and cultural impacts on the world. They also develop ""global competency"" by obtaining the necessary skills for engaging in problem-solving across boundaries.

Are you passionate about creating a healthy world? Learn how disease affects human biology and how to design, develop and formulate drugs that prevent or treat diseases. Pharmaceutical sciences are the foundation of new drug design, development and delivery. Students in the Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences program learn to apply the scientific method to address gaps in knowledge while also learning about governmental regulations of the drug development process, chemical-biological interactions of current drugs, the discovery of new drugs, and the techniques and tools in use by the pharmaceutical sciences industry. Learn how a Thematic emphasis within the Neuroscience and Cognitive Science major allows you to focus on a specific topic of interest. Neuroscience and cognitive science are broad areas of scientific study. Students seeking the Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Cognitive Science with a Thematic emphasis can choose an in-depth topical focus that matches their future career, research or study goals. The Thematic emphasis is meant for students who have a clear and compelling interest in a particular topic area in neuroscience and cognitive science that falls outside the scope of the major's several other emphases. Students wishing to choose a Thematic focus will be required to explain to faculty what the topic area is and why it doesn't align with the current emphases, as well as support the objectives of their coursework. As with the other emphases, research and independent study can be used for up to six of the 15 credits required to complete an emphasis.
