Students who select the Bachelor of Science in Geosciences with an Earth, Oceans and Climate (EOC) emphasis are immersed in an interdisciplinary approach to the study of the planet. Students gain an understanding of the history of Earth's climate, global change, ocean science and modern climate dynamics. They learn scientific research skills and work with data and technology in the field and in the laboratory. EOC students participate in hands-on capstone research or field experience, typically in the latter part of their program. Students examine the foundations of political science: theory, processes, principles, institutions, law, policy, international relations, foreign affairs, and ideas and methods. Students are encouraged to pursue opportunities outside of the classroom, such as internships at nonprofit organizations and government agencies, including the Arizona Legislature, the Arizona Superior Court and politicians' campaigns.

The world has thousands of languages. Study linguistics to understand the root of all language: human connection and communication. Linguistics is concerned with the nature of language and communication. Particularly, how humans learn language and how language influences the ways people interact and think about the world. In the Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics with an emphasis in Linguistics and Languages, students acquire an understanding of how language is structured in phonology, morphology, syntax both in a general sense and regarding specific languages. Students also learn how languages vary and discover the unconscious knowledge that all humans possess about language.
