Overview
Are you a practicing paramedic seeking your four-year degree? Consider the Emergency Medical Services program to bolster your training. The Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) at the University of Arizona's College of Medicine is designed for certified paramedics who are practicing at the state or national level. Students majoring in EMS will gain advanced training in leadership and critical care for both adult and pediatric patients from courses taught by experienced emergency medicine and EMS physicians. They'll expand their knowledge in EMS systems, disaster response, special operations, EMS medical and legal concerns, and EMS care in rural, wilderness and other limited-resource settings. This fully online program is designed to accommodate working paramedics and learners who are outside of Arizona or deployed. This program requires paramedic certification; an associate degree from community college is not required.

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):

This Bachelor of Science is for the student planning to pursue graduate study or a career in ecology and evolutionary biology, or a related scientific field.
