Expand your knowledge of the world's ecosystems and develop strategies to address the complex issues society faces in its stewardship of our planet's resources. The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science offers an emphasis in Soil, Air and Water. Students who opt for this track gain a broad scientific understanding of human influence on the natural world, from the molecular level to a global scale. Through work in classrooms, in labs and in the field, students learn how to properly collect soil, water and air samples, identify and implement appropriate analytical techniques, and interpret results. They also gain a deeper understanding of how environmental systems sustain climate, purify water, provide food and fiber, and remediate pollution.

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):

If you have a mind for data and analysis and want to use it to help others, consider majoring in Public Health with a Quantitative Methods in Public Health emphasis. The public health field always has a need for analytical minds for tracking and prevention of disease. The University of Arizona's Bachelor of Science with a major in Public Health is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health. Take advantage of individualized instruction that focuses on your unique needs as an oboist and teaches practical skills for a fruitful career. Students pursuing the Bachelor of Music in Performance with an Oboe emphasis learn in a variety of settings: private lessons, weekly master classes, weekly reed labs, large ensembles, chamber music and guest-artists master classes. In addition to the Fred Fox School of Music's highly personalized instruction in a supportive learning environment, oboe students get access to the school's professional recording studio and reed workshop, where they can utilize reed-making tools, including top-quality gouging and shaping equipment. The school is home to two orchestras, two wind ensembles, the Pride of Arizona Marching Band and the University of Arizona Jazz Ensemble, among others.

Students can audition for the Harp Studio, which offers weekly private lessons, a studio class, the study of harp pedagogy, orchestral coaching, mock auditions and master classes with guest artists. Plants are the foundation of biodiversity, global climate and the sustainability of the planet. As such, increased crop yields, reduced use of land and improved efficiency are key to healthy ecosystems and sustained human life. This interdisciplinary degree draws on coursework from basic and applied plant and soil science and features small classes and hands-on training.
