Undergraduates in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences (SLHS) study all aspects of communication sciences and disorders across the life span. The coursework is designed to foster development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills and enhances students' ability to evaluate scientific information. Students also have opportunities to participate in experiential activities such as research labs and clinical observation in an on-site speech, language and hearing clinic. A Bachelor of Science in SLHS prepares students for advanced degrees, such as Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology, Doctor of Audiology or Doctor of Philosophy.

Examine the humanistic and scientific perspectives of politics a field of study designed to help you embark on a career to help change the world. Political science is the study of government, public policy and the political behavior of individuals and groups. The Bachelor of Arts in Political Science program helps students cultivate clear and strong communication skills (writing, argumentation and presentation) as well as analytical abilities. Students examine the foundations of political science: theory, processes, principles, institutions, law, policy, international relations, foreign affairs, and ideas and methods. Students are encouraged to pursue opportunities outside of the classroom, such as internships at nonprofit organizations and government agencies, including the Arizona Legislature, the Arizona Superior Court and politicians' campaigns.

Physics is the study of matter and energy and how they interact. Students seeking a Bachelor of Science in Physics study topics such as computational physics, electricity and magnetism, quantum theory and scientific computing. The Fred Fox School of Music brings together faculty and students in an environment where students receive an education in music technique and performance while enjoying personalized guidance and mentoring. Students earning the Bachelor of Music in Performance with an emphasis in Guitar take classes in instrument technique as well as practical courses in sound mixing and recording. Students attend concerts, workshops, lectures, clinics and master classes, many taught by visiting artists and scholars. Gender and Women's Studies is an interdisciplinary Bachelor of Arts that works to contest historical, ongoing and pervasive oppression based on gender, race, sexuality, class, ability and citizenship. Students can opt for an emphasis in Chicana and Latina Studies, a course of study that works with the Gender and Women's Studies department's prestigious Southwest Institute for Research on Women (SIROW). Established in 1979, SIROW develops research-action projects of importance to women in the Southwestern U.S. and the Mexico-U.S. border regions. The Gender and Women's Studies department, founded in 1975 and led by a renowned faculty, stands at the forefront of feminist research and curriculum.

The study of small microorganisms can make a difference on a big scale, including leading to lifesaving innovations. Embrace the unknown. Microbiology is the study of microorganisms and the role they play in human, animal and plant health. This Bachelor of Science offers students a base in modern biology, specifically how microorganisms interact with their surroundings. Coursework includes food safety and consumer health; plant pathology and microbiology; environmental microbiology; microbial genomics and biotechnology; and medical microbiology. Students research microbes such as bacteria, viruses, fungi and protozoa and touch on subjects such as bacteriology, parasitology, mycology, immunology and microbial genetics. This program cultivates students' expertise in preparation for highly specialized professions from biotechnology to medical science.
